Edinbrook Church

Edinbrook Church OUR MISSION: To lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We have something worth sharing ~ we are committed to do that with all our strength.

OUR VISION

To become a highly valued presence in our community as we intentionally practice Jesus-style love through proclamation and demonstration. At Edinbrook, we take Jesus’ words very seriously: “You are the salt of the earth.” We desire to season our world in a positive way, impacting our community and world as we reach beyond our immediate congregation.

Before pride leads to destruction, let God soften your heart, correct your spirit, and draw you closer to Him.

God loves you. You have probably heard that before, but have you heard he also likes you?

God knows everything about you, your past, your present, and your future and yet He still chose you and continues to CHOOSE YOU! Have you ever experienced such unconditional love before?

I’m Krista Koss, the Coffee Shop Co-Manager, and I get to
work alongside our amazing volunteers to make coffee and beverages for all of the wonderful people who come through the doors on Sunday mornings.

I grew up going to Edinbrook with my family, and now I get to start my own family here. I married my best friend and we are expecting our first child soon! I’m a little introverted, but I can be really goofy with the people I’m close to. I can also be stubborn and feel like I need to be strong on my own, but I’m constantly reminded by the amazing people in my life that I am not alone and God holds me in His hands.

I enjoy experiencing new things with the people I love; including exploring a new city, checking out a festival, or trying a new restaurant.

Hebrews 12:1-3
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

This verse reminds me that I am not alone in my journey to live my life with my eyes on Jesus. The “witnesses” listed previously in chapter 11 persevered when it was difficult, and God was watching over them then like he’s watching over me now. It encourages me to keep going and gives me strength.

Joshua Kirsch. Associate Pastor. I oversee the adult ministries, classes, and LIFE Groups. I support Pastor Brent with pastoral needs, requests, and preaching. I support our Kids, Youth, and Care ministry staff as well as overseeing the Family Ministry Team. I run point on major community events or outreach events. I write the study guides for each week’s sermon. I help provide oversight and organization for anything that needs to be done. Whatever needs doing, I will do it (if I can 😊).

I am married to my wonderful wife, Kristina. We have been married for 26 years. We have two kids and a son-in-law. So three kids! We have a dog named Oakley. If I’m not working at church, I’m probably home working on a house project, at the gym, hiking with my wife (we love exploring new outdoor places), playing a good card or board game with family, watching a good TV show or movie, puzzling, or playing disc golf.

I enjoy a good hike in nature – exploring a new trail or park in MN that I have not been to before. I also love Disc Golf! It’s another great way to enjoy the outdoors while challenging myself on the course.

Romans 8:38-39. “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

These verses spoke VOLUMES to my soul when I was a new believer and battling powerful feelings of inadequacy, worth, and identity. To know that the Lord of all creation is an unstoppable force who will not let me go because of His extreme love for me was and is life changing.

Nobody talks about the middle part.

The stretch between the prayer and the answer — where you say “Your will be done” and then quietly restate your preference, just in case. Where you surrender it Monday and pick it back up by Wednesday. Where you’re genuinely happy for them and quietly wrecked at the same time.

That’s not weak faith. That’s faith actually doing its work.

Swipe to the last one. Which slide did you feel in your chest?

Hi, My name is Beth Koenck and I am the Kids Ministry Administrative Associate. Fancy name for the admin stuff in the background that helps Sunday mornings and Kids programs like Awana and VBS run, hopefully smoothly. I support the Birth thru Grade 5 Kid's Pastors in anything they might need and provide some help with the Youth in Grades 6 thru 12. I work quite a bit with our database groups, creating forms for you to fill out, and sending Kids promotions out to the people that need them, so you can see them on a slide or as an announcement on Sunday morning, in the newsletter on Friday or a sign around the building. You will probably see me at Check-in for all the Kids programs helping at a computer, with a new family getting them registered for the day or giving a tour of the Kids area.

My husband Alan and I have 2 grown kids, Ryan and Mara. We are originally from Iowa we have been in MN for 30 years now, but my husband and I are alumni and huge (ISU) Iowa State University Cyclone Fans. We have been known to travel to watch Football and Basketball games, and even a March Madness game or two. We recently went to Chicago to watch the ISU Men's Basketball team play in a sweet 16 game. We also have traveled as an extended Koenck Family, 11 of us, to Atlantis in the Bahamas over a Thanksgiving to watch ISU in a tournament. Plus, many trips to Ames to tailgate and watch Football and Basketball. Our extended families are in Iowa and Florida, so we do like to travel to visit them.
My favorite time of year is the growing season. I grew up on a dairy farm, and I still love to grow flowers and vegetables in my garden, landscaping with shrubs and trying new plants around my home and maybe mowing the lawn. In the last few years, I have started helping with the landscaping at the church. I am excited to see how the Hydrangeas I pruned and Sedum that I transplanted develop and change this year.
