We often talk about church entirely in terms of what our family receives.
Was the sermon inspiring?
Did the kids enjoy it?
Was the worship good?
Did we connect?
But discipleship asks a different question.
Who needed us there?
Maybe an older member needed your children’s energy in the room.
Maybe another young parent needed to see they were not the only exhausted family.
Maybe someone needed your encouragement.
Maybe your teenager needed to serve a younger child.
Maybe your gifts are part of what makes the congregation healthier.
Paul says every member of the body matters.
The hand needs the eye.
The eye needs the foot.
The body grows when each part does its work.
