What an incredible night.

Tonight the men from Rooted in Grace had the opportunity to attend One Cause and Simply Jesus. We had an amazing time worshipping, and being reminded that Jesus is still changing lives.

One Cause has a powerful mission of helping save children and bringing awareness to the realities many children face. We are thankful for organizations that are willing to stand in the gap and make a difference.

Most of all, we are grateful for the presence of God that was felt throughout the evening. There is something special about seeing men who once felt hopeless lifting their hands and worshipping Jesus with freedom.

A special thank you to Louie Campbell and Dwayne Volkman for generously purchasing tickets for all of our guys. Your kindness made it possible for them to experience this night, and we are grateful for that.

God is doing amazing things, and we’re thankful to be a small part of it.

Today was a great day for Rooted in Grace!

We had the opportunity to help One Cause get set up, and tonight we have the honor of attending their concert at Central Christian Church. We are excited to support what God is doing through their ministry.

Our center also had the chance to give back to the community by helping with the Ur Choice Drug Court car wash fundraiser and washing cars alongside them. As many of you know, Drug Court was a huge part of both mine and Jeffery’s journey. It played a significant role in helping us rebuild our lives, so being able to come back and serve in this way was truly special.

We are incredibly grateful for every opportunity to give back, support others, and be a part of what God is doing in our community. ❤️

Your flesh will always choose the easy road. It craves comfort, excuses, and instant gratification. But God didn’t call us to be comfortable, He called us to be transformed.

Every day is a choice: feed the flesh or feed the Spirit. One leads to bo***ge, the other to freedom.

“Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”
Galatians 5:16

The truth is, if you’re serious about staying clean and sober, you have to be willing to let go of the environments, habits, and relationships that pull you back into the life God is calling you out of.

“Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’”
1 Corinthians 15:33

Today was a special day at Rooted in Grace.

Kelly Newlin officially graduated our program, becoming only the second graduate in our history and the third resident who ever walked through our doors.

What makes this moment so incredible isn’t just where Kelly is today. It’s where God brought him from.

There were a lot of moments along the way where things could have gone differently. A lot of obstacles. A lot of doors that seemed closed. But time and time again, God proved faithful.

When we didn’t know how things would work out, God made a way.

When opportunities seemed impossible, God opened doors.

When the future looked uncertain, God was already preparing the next step.

Today, Kelly leaves with keys to his own apartment, a basketball signed by the men he has walked alongside, a card filled with encouragement, and even a set of pots and pans to help him start this new chapter.

But more importantly, he leaves with something far greater than any gift.

He leaves with a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

As I looked around the room today, I couldn’t help but think about the faithfulness of God. Kelly is a Lawrence County native, and now his story stands as a testimony that God still changes lives, restores what was broken, and leads people into a future filled with hope.

Watching him worship, grow, and become the man God is calling him to be has been an incredible blessing.

We are proud of you, Kelly.

Thank you for trusting God through the process.

Thank you for staying when it would have been easier to quit.

And thank You, Lord, for proving once again that what You start, You are faithful to finish.

“Being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 1:6

Congratulations, Kelly. Your Rooted in Grace family loves you, and we can’t wait to see what God does next.

Zach is one of our longest residents, and from day one he showed up determined to change his life. He already had his mind made up, and we’ve had the privilege of watching him reach milestone after milestone ever since.

No matter where you’ve been or what your past looks like, God can still make all things new. ❤️

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

Today was something I’ll never forget.

Rooted in Grace celebrated our FIRST EVER graduate.

Cyril walked across that stage as the first alumni in the history of this ministry.

But God.

That’s the story.

Because what we witnessed wasn’t behavior modification. It wasn’t someone just “getting cleaned up.” It was transformation.

A real encounter with Jesus changes everything.

“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6

Cyril is living proof that no one is too far gone, no story is too broken, and no life is beyond the reach of God’s grace.

To watch him grow into a worshipper, a brother, a worker, and a bold man of God has been incredible. Seeing him persevere, push through struggles, stay faithful, and become the man we celebrated today has been one of the greatest faith builders for all of us.

And what makes this even more special… he’s our first.

The first graduate.
The first alumni.
The first testimony of what God can do through Rooted in Grace.

But he will not be the last.

Today wasn’t just about Cyril’s graduation.
It was proof that transformation is possible.
Proof that Jesus still restores.
Proof that dead things can live again.

So proud of you, Cyril.

Go walk in everything God has for you.

-Jeff

Rooted in Grace Recovery and Discipleship Center began with a vision to help men rebuild their lives through faith, structure, accountability, and community support. What started as a launch fundraiser has now turned into something incredible by the grace of God, we are operating at MAX CAPACITY.

Since opening our doors, we have watched lives begin to transform. Our men are working jobs, attending counseling, obtaining their driver’s licenses, rebuilding relationships, and becoming productive members of the community again. We are beyond proud to share that we even have our very first TWO graduates coming up soon.

As the need in our community continues to grow, so does the need for expansion. We have already begun working toward expanding our facility so we can continue helping more men who are desperately seeking a second chance. Along with expansion, we are also facing major roof repairs that cannot wait.

Every donation helps provide:
• Safe and stable housing
• Recovery support and discipleship
• Transportation to jobs, court, counseling, and appointments
• Daily living essentials
• Facility improvements and expansion
• Critical roof repairs

We have come such a long way in such a short time, and we truly believe this is only the beginning. Your support directly impacts the lives of men fighting to overcome addiction, homelessness, incarceration, and hopelessness.

Here are some updated pictures from day one to now. You guys have truly been with us every step of the way, and we could never thank this community enough for the love, prayers, encouragement, and support you’ve shown us throughout this journey.

Help us continue changing lives. Help us help them.

Thank you for believing in restoration, redemption, and second chances.
