CLOSED: Since 1979, God has led the Church Family of Brentwood 1st Presbyterian Church. For the last 14 years, I have had the privilege of being pastor of B1st. Last year, 2025 was a difficult year, especially with the death of Bill Kan and Stella McDonald, which brought us to a new reality. Through discernment and being led by God B1st decided in November that our time as a congregation had come to an end. We were unanimous us in feeling this was God's will. Our last service was December 28, 2025. With a message of hope and singing "Be Thou My Vision", we celebrated God's Goodness & Blessings. - Pastor Perry Muse, May 10, 2026.

Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day, where we honor the 6 million Jewish victims of the N**i regime.
When learning about the Holocaust, many people ask how could such a tragic event ever occur, but this famous quote from German Pastor Niemöller paints a picture of how it happened:

“First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out-
Because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out-
Because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me-
and there was no one left to speak for me.”

When society becomes complicit to persecution, tyranny, and attacks on freedom-tragedy occurs. May we come together, stand for inalienable rights for all, and never be bystanders of tyranny.
