Students from Holy Name Parish School and St. Theresa of Avila School gathered to celebrate and honor the life of local hero Boston Fire Department Firefighter Robert "Bobby" Kilduff Jr.

St. Theresa's School posted on their social media: "We are grateful for the opportunity to come together in support of the Kilduff family, friends, and fellow firefighters. Please join us in keeping them in our thoughts and prayers as we remember and honor Firefighter Kilduff's legacy of service."

Holy Name Parish School echoed the sentiment, sharing, "It was moving to see our students—from Kindergarten through sixth grade—stand together with such dignity and compassion. We are honored to support his family, friends, and fellow firefighters as we remember the profound legacy of service and sacrifice that he leaves behind. They remain in our thoughts and prayers."

Kilduff's funeral Mass was held on June 1st at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston. Our prayers are with his family, friends, and fellow firefighters.

Congratulations to St. Mary's High School in Lynn, MA!
English teacher Stacy Drector recently led the school in participating in the National Catholic Schools Haiku Contest sponsored by the NCEA.

Drector told her class, "You don't know if you're going to win, but you should always try, and if you don't win, you still tried!"

The seasoned educator remarked on Male's accomplishment as a "great achievement," emphasizing that of her class of 102, she was only able to submit 8 poems for consideration, and Male was selected as one of the winners.

Male's winning entry is included on the second slide.

🎓🎓🎓“What is nobler than to rule minds or to mold the character of the young? I consider that he who knows how to form the youthful mind is truly greater than all the painters, sculptors, and all others of that sort.” — St. John Chrysostom 🌟🌟🌟

Recently, Martha Murray, National Director of the Tom and Terri Murphy Foundation, provided an overview of the foundation's work in fostering independence among students who benefit from additional academic support. Schools in the Archdiocese of Boston that participate in the foundation’s “Pathways to Independence” program provide current and future students with specialized benefits and opportunities.

We at the Catholic Schools Office appreciate the Murphy Foundation for acting in love and mission to help serve and support all students! To learn more about the wonderful program, click here: https://tmurphyfoundation.org/our-story/
