Thanks to the efforts of Associate Superintendent Mary Goslin, the Archdiocese of Boston recently hosted Dr. Michaeleen Doucleff, author of Dopamine Kids to the Pastoral Center for a meet and greet. School leaders and educators, many of whom are parents themselves, joined the New York Times Bestselling Author in a discussion around screen addiction in children and adults and how to break the cycle. President Lincoln wrote the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863, but it wasn’t until two years later that the enslaved African Americans in Galveston, TX, finally received word of their legal freedom.

Today, we celebrate this completion of the act of justice invoked under the favor of God, and we pray for the end of all racism and discrimination.

Talk about full circle! Superintendent Eileen McLaughlin recently wished her former Kindergarten teacher, Judy Norton, a happy retirement! Judy is retiring from Our Lady’s Academy in Waltham and previously taught at Our Lady of the Presentation, where Eileen attended as a child. We wish a very happy and blessed retirement to Judy and all other retirees in our schools this year!
