⭐️ New name, who dis? ⭐️

We’ve had a few people ask: why the name change? Let us explain!

Every camper brings their own unique beauty, talent, and life experience to our community. Like individual tiles in a mosaic, each one adds something special. Together, we create a breathtaking masterpiece—a celebration of our differences and the strength they bring to our shared story. While LIFE Camp served us well, we felt it was time for a name that better reflected our mission and vision moving forward.

With our new name comes an exciting announcement: Mosaic is now officially Lake Louise’s fine arts camp session! This means Mosaic will be a creative haven for painting, music, dancing, tabletop RPGs, writing, and so much more—just as we’ve been doing for years, but now with even more opportunities.

The best part? As the official fine arts camp, we’ll have access to expanded resources to make our workshops even more exciting, innovative, and unique.

And don’t worry—while the name and focus are evolving, the heart of camp remains unchanged. Your favorite counselors, deans, and worship team will be back to bring all the Life Camp fun you know and love.

Together, we’re not just a camp. We’re a Mosaic.

❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

And that's a wrap for LIFE Camp 2024!

We finished last week on Saturday morning. The campers rolled out of bed 30 minutes earlier than any other day that week (and probably hours earlier than at home!) but moved out quickly for our last meal together. After breakfast, we met for one more time of worship, and Pastor Brad shared communion with the camp. Then came all the 'See ya Laters', hugs, and high fives before each camper and staff member headed their separate ways.

It was an outstanding week! I believe each person left feeling a little closer to God. It was easy to see Holy Spirit move through the beautiful setting as campers and staff alike were present with each other, learning about God through contemplation and discussion with others, and by showing genuine care for each other. Even after so many years, it can feel magical during what feels like one of the shortest weeks of the year.

We are so thankful to our host, Lake Louise Christian Community, Camp & Retreat Center, for providing such a wonderful place to hold LIFE Camp. The team worked hard to make sure that EVERY camper made it to camp. This year, we had more campers than ever request assistance with tuition and Lake Louise made it happen. We are hoping to help raise some funds to make sure that kids can keep going to camp for years to come.

To our campers - Thank you for hanging out and reminding the staff what it's like to have a childlike faith and the importance of investing our time and energy in our young people in our community. Your positive attitudes, open minds, and silly personalities made the week an absolute joy. While we hope that the highs from the week will stick around as long as possible, we know that it will start to feel low at times; remember - you have a support network who will show up when you need it. Simply reach out and ask. We look forward to seeing you again next year.

To the LIFE Camp staff - YOU are the reason that LIFE Camp is successful each and every year. Your commitment to these young people is above and beyond what is seen in our society today, and it truly makes an impact. Showing up for the week demonstrates to our campers what it's like to live out the faith. Rest up! We'll start planning for next year soon!

To Neil, Greg, and the rest of the staff at Lake Louise - We are so thankful for your support and making sure each person was happy, healthy, and able to fully enjoy all the plans we made. I know it's been an exhausting Summer, but you have changed the lives of the hundreds of people that came to camp this year.

To all our supporters - Thanks for following along last week and always being there for us. All of your support and prayers were felt and helped give us the strength to make it an amazing week!

While we have (hopefully) finished up our laundry, packed away our sleeping bags, and slept more hours than we have in months, the memories of LIFE Camp 2024 are still fresh on our minds. Before we even left camp, Chelsey and I started talking about 2025! If all goes as planned, we'll be back for LIFE Camp again next Summer from July 20th to July 26th, 2025 - GET IT ON YOUR CALENDAR!

More pictures to come! Until then, we'll save you a spot by the fire.

LIFE Camp 2024 Day 6!

Our last full day together. After working on staff for 8 years, Fridays can have an interesting feel. Some years, it can feel somber as many will feel the dread of returning to life at home and the challenges to our faith that we will once again face. This year, however, was not one of those years!

The campers had a blast from beginning to end! Our morning schedule was a bit different as we moved from worship to a time taken to reflect on the lessons learned this week. Pastor Brad then offered an invitation to the campers; each person was given a chance to pray with one of our staff about their faith journey at all stages in the process and in life. An intimate moment of vulnerability, many of our campers built up the courage to receive the support being offered and felt the presence of God in that moment.

Afterwards, our counselors met with their cabins in the Fire Bowl to share a blessing with each camper. Another moment in the week that is dedicated to our campers, their faith journey, and our time to remind them that they are a gift from God and will always be offered His unconditional grace and love even when we think we don’t deserve it.

This afternoon, our campers had one more round of workshops. Yoga and meditation, tree climbing (Lake Louise Style), a sculpture competition, swing dancing, and henna classes were led by our talented counselors and gave our campers a taste of something new.

This evening, our campers and staff participated in the Variety Show! While some of our campers showed us their amazing talents, most shared silly skits and heartfelt memories of the week. A ton of entertainment to pack into one night.

Our final meditation at Tennant Chapel was followed by a time for a handful of counselors to share a favorite Bible passage with our campers and how it has impacted their life. Finally, we heard the testimony of our senior camper and I shared a final message about seeing and connecting with God each day once we depart from this place.

Early morning bell followed by a mass scramble to move out and ready to head home. While we always wish there could be more time, we need an opportunity to share and practice what we learned this week and in the setting we most often exist.

LIFE Camp 2024 Day 5!

Hard to believe our time is quickly coming to an end. With that being said, our campers had an amazing day!

Counselor Josh shared our last spiritual practice this week: Service. His message was highlighted by a story in which service can be as simple as being present for a stranger especially when nothing is at stake. A conversation in a line can change the direction of a person’s day.

Our second set of workshops finished up in the afternoon. Our calligraphers added watercolors, our RPG group escaped a monster (twice!), our praise band made a joyful noise, our cooks made pizzas and banana popsicles, our mandolin players learned new songs, and our actors improved their improv game.

This evening, I led the camp through Survivor. Based on the TV show, I placed all our campers on teams and challenged them to a variety of tasks that required thier mind, teamwork, and creativity to find success. The winning team was crowned the new Survivor Champions of LIFE Camp and celebrated by smashing whip cream pies into our faces (and I had 5 out of the sick on me!)

At Fire Bowl, Counselor Karen reminded us that we each have gifts and how important it is for us to share those gifts in appreciation to the one that gave them to us.

Another day gone. Another full day to go. Our time is waning but much fun is still to be had!
