Trinity Church

Trinity Church Jesus Reigns. For the glory of God. For the life of the world. Join us at 10:00 AM on Sundays. We are evangelical and reformed.

We are currently meeting at Providence Classical Christian School in Bothell, WA. Trinity Church is a local gathering of saints who love the Lord Jesus Christ because He first loved us. By evangelical, we mean that we proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ to the world, that He is the only way of salvation, and believing that Christ came to accomplish just that, the salvation of the world. By refo

rmed, we mean that we stand in the stream of historical Protestantism; we believe that God's sovereignty is absolutely exhaustive, and we embrace the doctrines of grace wholeheartedly.

What are we to say to the individual, to the head of the family, to the leader of a church or denomination, and to the leaders of a civil government?
At the name of Jesus, every knee must bow. The church does this with the tools it has been given: Word and water, bread and wine.

From "The Ascension and Reign of Jesus Christ" on Dan 7:1-18 from Pastor Dave Hatcher on Sunday. Audio and notes on our website.

Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit. James 5:16-18

From "Prayer and Dealing With Sin" on James 5:13-18 from Associate Pastor Tyler Hatcher on Sunday. Audio and notes on our website.

As tumultuous, obscure, and inscrutable as Psalm [68] is, going this way and that, so is the reign of Christ from our vantage point.

The history of the church is a series of victories cleverly disguised as defeats.

"Let God arise,
Let His enemies be scattered;
Let those also who hate Him flee before Him.
As smoke is driven away,
So drive them away;
As wax melts before the fire,
So let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
But let the righteous be glad;
Let them rejoice before God;
Yes, let them rejoice exceedingly."
(Ps 68:1-3)

God had promised another Prophet like Moses and so they expected another liberation from pagan domination.
This is why the crucifixion was so devastating. If Jesus was to defeat the pagans, He wasn’t supposed to die at their hands.

But dying at their hands was how Jesus intended to redeem Israel and the whole world, and the resurrection made all the difference (Rom 1:4).

From "Hope Resurrected" on Luke 24:13-35 by Pastor Dave Hatcher on Easter Sunday.

But it’s Jesus.
King Jesus.
He is the One who “for the joy set before Him endured the cross” and so we are told to run a similar race.

His week was full of hardship. Yours may be as well. What will hinder your joy? Not the circumstances. It will be the weight (think distractions) and unconfessed sin which will entangle you (Heb 12:1-2, Psalm 51:10-12).

Run the race with anticipatory joy.

There is a cross, but there will be a crown. There is a death but there will
be a resurrection.

For Christians, if we remind ourselves of what Palm Sunday was leading up to, what was going to be accomplished, we of all people should be filled with more joy than could ever be contained.

Their overflowing joy was an anticipatory joy before Jesus was crucified. How much more ought we experience such joy after His crucifixion and resurrection?

As Peter would write, ours is “joy inexpressible, and full of glory.”

From "Palm Sunday Joy" from Pastor Dave Hatcher on Luke 19:37-40

Do you love Jesus Christ (1 Pet 1:8)?

His name is on you – that is what your baptism did. What do you make of that (Rom 6:3, Gal 2:20)?

Do you know the forgiveness of your sins (1 John 1:9)?

This Gospel is a hospitable message and so we say, every week, “Come and welcome to Jesus Christ.”

Tonight! All are welcome!

We are to take the work seriously by faith, believing that God is going to complete the good work He has begun.
