Bonaire First Baptist Church

Bonaire First Baptist Church Loving Christ above all. Following Christ in all. Sharing Christ with all. Sunday School is offered at 9:30 am. To him be glory forever."

We currently offer services at 8:30 & 10:30 am, but from June 26-July 31, 2022 we are on a summer schedule with one 10:30 am service; Facebook Live at 10:30 am. During our 10:30 am service we offer nursery, Children's Church, and Praise Factory for our children (3 years through 6th grade). At Bonaire FBC we believe as Paul stated in Romans 11:36 that "from him and through him and to him are all th

ings. (ESV) Thus, our goal in worship is to exalt Christ together with all of our hearts. We pursue this goal using a variety of means including Scripture reading, prayer, praise, and preaching. Our worship normally opens with a time of announcements, fellowship, Scripture reading and prayer. The congregation then joins in a time of praise and worship which includes diversity in style while maintaining a strong commitment to theological integrity. Our singing is led by our worship team which includes both praise band and sanctuary choir. Following our time of praise and worship, the children are dismissed to either Praise Factory or Children's Church depending on their age. Praise Factory is a time of worship for older kids that includes a teaching time along with various small group activities. It is designed to teach and prepare our children for corporate worship. Children's Church is a time of teaching younger children that involves Bible stories, activities, and a snack time. Simultaneously, those in the sanctuary enjoy a time of preaching and study. At BFBC we are committed to expository preaching that considers the whole of Scripture. Thus, our pastor consistently challenges the congregation to consider the great truths of God's written Word. Our time of worship normally concludes with singing and prayer.

Mark 10:46-52: John 9:1-41; Luke 17:11-19

In this week’s message our subject is again the miracles (signs) of Jesus. Last week, we saw Jesus’ power over the natural creation, and this week we will look at Jesus’ authority over physical diseases. I remind you that these messages are “excursions” designed for two ends: to show that these signs were not given to amaze but to point to the person and purposes of Jesus Himself, and to inspire you to study the Gospels again through another facet of the diamond.

Today we are looking at two kinds of miracles that speak to Jesus’ person and purpose: healing and leprosy.

John 2:1-12; Matthew 14:22-31
Background: John 6:16-21; Mark 6:45-52

The “birthday verses” for this year are found in John 20:30-31 where the miracles are properly described as “signs.” The Gospel of John records seven major miracels of Jesus - three of these are in the realm of the natural world, three are in the area of physical diseases, and one over death itself. The Synoptic Gospels contain many other miracles that deal with these categories as well the demonic sphere. In these, Jesus demonstrates His authority and the fact that He is the Son of GOD.

In today’s message we will look at the miracles in the realm of nature.
