Words of wisdom
Good afternoon, Freshwind, family, and friends,
Eli’s sons were wicked men; they did not respect the LORD or the priests’ share of the sacrifices from the people. When anyone offered a sacrifice, the priest’s servant would come with a three-pronged meat fork while the meat was boiling and plunge it into the container, kettle, cauldron, or cooking pot. The priest would claim for himself whatever the meat fork brought up. This is the way they treated all the Israelites who came there to Shiloh. (1 Sam. 2:12-14)
Eli’s sons “did not know the LORD” and used their position for themselves, But, God said, “I will honor those who honor me, but those who despise me will be disgraced” (1 Sam. 2:30; Galatians 6:7). Position, title, or proximity to church means nothing if your life dishonors God, He’s looking at your heart and your obedience.
REAL TALK: "Stop using what God gave you for yourself, because if you won’t honor Him with it, He will remove what you refuse to steward."
Love you, cover you,
