Dr. Eric Barreto, Associate Professor of New Testament at Princeton Theological Seminary, opened the final plenary of the inaugural Luminosity Conference by urging church leaders to move beyond narratives of decline and instead reclaim the imaginative, hope‑filled vision found in the book of Acts. Drawing on several stories from Acts, he emphasized that the church’s future lies not in nostalgia or anxiety but in rediscovering God’s surprising, boundary‑breaking work, even “in the middle of nowhere.”
