A continuation of yesterday’s “Step 1” (think of it as part 2)
AA Step 1: We admitted that we were powerless over our problems and that our lives had become unmanageable.
Alcoholics and addicts alike, ask why I keep going back to my addiction. “I am sick and tired of being sick and tired, but I return to IT.” One is never enough! Our will is not strong enough to overcome our sin. Yes, SIN, which is an action or thought that goes against God’s will and separates us from God. The solution to sin is not in willpower nor self-control, instead the answer is spiritual. Ask us about the spiritual path. Even Apostle Paul struggled as he wrote in Roman 7:18-20.
Romans 7: 18) For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. 19) For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing. 20) Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me.
