Words of Encouragement from the Bible for the moments you feel there is no help:

Psalm 40:16-17 (ESV) 16) But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation say continually, “Great is the Lord!” 17) As for me, I am poor and needy, but the Lord takes thought for me. You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God!

From the Fat book: step 2: “we came to believe that a power greater then ourselves could restore us to sanity”

Who is our higher power and why should it be Jesus? We can make anything our higher power, but can that higher power really help us? There is only one that can. Join us Sunday night June 7th at 6 pm to hear Chris teach about step 2 and the only power truly capable of helping us all. All are welcome!!!

A continuation of yesterday’s “Step 1” (think of it as part 2)

AA Step 1: We admitted that we were powerless over our problems and that our lives had become unmanageable.

Alcoholics and addicts alike, ask why I keep going back to my addiction. “I am sick and tired of being sick and tired, but I return to IT.” One is never enough! Our will is not strong enough to overcome our sin. Yes, SIN, which is an action or thought that goes against God’s will and separates us from God. The solution to sin is not in willpower nor self-control, instead the answer is spiritual. Ask us about the spiritual path. Even Apostle Paul struggled as he wrote in Roman 7:18-20.

Romans 7: 18) For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. 19) For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing. 20) Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me.

You can join us for church at 6 PM, Sunday, 1011 W Washington Street, Bluffton. Christian New Light Church is extremely kind for allowing us to use their sanctuary and fellowship hall.

AA Step 1: We admitted that we were powerless over our problems and that our lives had become unmanageable.

It is hard to admit that your life is out of control due to drinking, drugs, and/or a destructive habit. So let us look at a man who has a completely unmanageable life; he is the focus and example for this Sunday’s sermon at 6 PM (1011 W Washington, Bluffton, IN). Read Mark 5:1-6 (ESV)
1)They came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gerasenes. 2 And when Jesus had stepped out of the boat, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit. 3) He lived among the tombs. And no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain, 4) for he had often been bound with shackles and chains, but he wrenched the chains apart, and he broke the shackles in pieces. No one had the strength to subdue him. 5) Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains, he was always crying out and cutting himself with stones. 6) And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and fell down before him.

Join us, Recovery Church Bluffton-IN, at 6 PM for the rest of the story. Good day.

When you follow the life God has for you in The Good Book (Bible), during and following your recovery, what will happen to you during times of challenge? Read Psalm 1:1-4!

Psalm 1 (ESV)
1) Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
2) but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.
3) He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.
4) The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away.

If you feel that this is too big of a task, ask us to walk and pray with you during this journey. We can connect you with a sponsor to hold you accountable and give encouragement.

Words of Hope from the Good Book

“Will God hear my prayers for recovery from alcohol/addiction? Will God place a safe person in my life to walk with me through recovery and beyond?”

Absolutely, he sent His Son, Jesus, to heal us! And He formed Recovery Church!

1 John 5:14-15 (ESV): 14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
