Wells County Bible Reading Marathon
Location: Parlor City Plaza (next to the Wells County Court House)
Date & Time: 11:30 AM Wednesday, May 3rd through 7:20 PM, Thursday, May 4th

Great opportunity for churches, Bible study groups, youth groups, community service groups, and school groups. This tradition began in Wells County during the early 1990s by the local churches.

We are asking for groups to sign up for one hour (see below) and have their members read a chapter or more.

With only 10 days remaining in the 2022 Red Kettle Campaign, Salvation Army of Wells County is desperate for volunteer bell ringers. We are at 39% of our $22,000 goal. Bell Ringers can choose either Walmart or Kroger for 2 hour shifts. This is a fun way to experience the Christmas Spirit while servicing your Wells County neighbors by raising funds for those in need of financial assistance with rent, utilities, food, transportation, clothing, and medical. This is a great activity for families with children, youth groups, clubs, individuals, employees, and churches. In Wells County, our staff is 100% volunteers serving the emergency and disaster needs of our neighbors. All funds raised in Wells County stay in Wells County. Needed, volunteer bell ringers to raise emergency assistance funds for Wells County residents needing help with rent, utilities, food, medical, house fires, and natural disasters.

Salvation Army Service Extension of Wells County is a 100% volunteer operated organization which has been giving assistance and Biblical-based spiritual support to Wells County residents since 1975.

- Masks must be worn
- Disposable masks are available
- Social distancing must be observed (6ft)
- Hand sanitizer available
- Your two hour shift can be split w/ friends, family, coworkers, etc.

Oct 26 (COVID 19): The increase in assistance provided to those in need has reduced our available funds. Rent/utility assistance is currently limited to $100 per household. All emergency housing request are limited to one night and require a Bluffton Police referral (w/ background check).

For additional assistance, check with your township trustee, The Connecting Center (260-307-5125), Faith Fund, and Community and Family Services (Energy Assistance).
