Tapestry has asked for help supporting their community during this time. There are three ways you can support this month through CCLC:

1️⃣Donate essential items.

Bring household items such as dish soap or personal care items such as toothpaste and feminine hygiene products to church. Collections bins will be in the narthex.

2️⃣Write a Valentine for Tapestry members.

We will have Valentine's Day cards in the narthex. You are invited to write and decorate a note (or two!) to include with the donated items that will be distributed to Tapestry members.

3️⃣Help with the delivery of items to Tapestry.

Depending on the number of items collected, we may need volunteers to help pick up, load, and transport donations to Tapestry. This would most likely take place on Fridays this month.

Please contact Anna Schattauer Paillé with any questions or ideas on how to support our partners at Tapestry.

Dr. Thompson is a Lutheran theologian who has worked at St. Olaf College and Hamline University. She is the author of five books, including Crossing the Divide: Luther, Feminism, and the Cross; The Virtual Body of Christ in a Suffering World; and most recently, Glimpsing Resurrection: Cancer, Trauma, and Ministry.

All are welcome to join us for “Freed to Serve Sunday” on October 26. We’ll welcome representatives of all four of our core service partners, learn from a recycling ambassador from Hennepin County who can help you minimize your household waste, and collect an offering for ELCA World Hunger, a ministry of the ELCA that provides aid in 34 states and 63 countries. In addition, our youth will pack care kits benefitting Global Refuge (formerly Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service) and our Sunday schoolers will learn about recycling and make thank you cards for Bloomington firefighters.
