We are a group of Christians meeting in the town of Blackfoot in Southeast Idaho. We believe that the one true God has created all things, and has made his complete and sufficient will available to mankind in the body of divinely inspired writings now known as the Bible. Like all churches
of Christ, the congregation at Blackfoot is an autonomous organization, and is not under the jurisdiction or control of any larger body or leadership beyond that which is specified in the New Testament: that of the local church congregation (I Tim 3). We also do not subscribe to any manmade creeds, disciplines, or other writings of men, choosing instead to study (and teach) only those things which have been given to us in God's word (Matt 15:8-9, I Tim 4:15-16). Nevertheless, the churches of Christ in general agree on and have in common many beliefs and practices simply because we accept completely and only the things recorded by the divinely inspired writers of the New Testament, and strive diligently to apply the instructions therein, in the same way in which the Christians of the first century heeded and applied the teachings of Christ and the apostles (2 Pet 1:2-3, 2 Tim 2:15). We welcome you to come and worship with us as the disciples of Christ did in the time of the apostles! We come together for a few hours each week to study from God's word, honor him in prayers and singing, and partake of the Lord's supper (Acts 20:7-8, Col 3:16-17, Acts 2:41-42, 1 Cor 11:23-28). Come join us and bring glory to God, and enjoy the benefits that come from the study and application of the word and Godly living!
- I Timothy 4:8-11 - 8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. 9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. 10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. 11 These things command and teach.
