Brian was an awesome songwriter and worship leader during the height of the Vineyard movement. He will be greatly missed.

Songwriter/Worship Leader Brian Doerksen has passed.
I’ve played his songs on various worship teams at many churches over the years, and they have always carried a special weight. There is something about his music that invites people in gently, yet powerfully, and helps a congregation focus on the Lord rather than the performance.
From the first chords of “Come, Now Is the Time to Worship” to the prayerful depth of “Refiner’s Fire,” his songs have served as faithful companions in worship. They have helped lead people into moments of surrender, reverence, and renewed devotion, and I have always appreciated how naturally they fit into the flow of a service.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce, and their six children: four daughters and two sons.
Brian Doerksen’s life and ministry touched worshipers around the world, and his songs helped shape a generation of church singing. He will always be remembered for writing music that was simple, heartfelt, and deeply centered on God’s presence and faithfulness.
Brian Doerksen was 60.
