In a world full of negativity, discouragement, and hate, Paul leaves us with a challenging message. We find this message in Philippians 4:8:

"Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report: if there be any virtue, if there be any praise, think on these things."

The world can be full of negativity, but we can choose to see with God’s eyes and speak life. The world can be full of discouragement, but we can choose to act as the hands and feet of Jesus and exhibit kindness and compassion. The world can be full of hate, but we can choose to demonstrate love. But first, we have to change the way we think.

Choose to think of the things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and good report, and watch what happens. Watch God use you to change the negativity into something positive.

This is the message we shared with every performance of the Zootopia play at this year's Hallow(themed) Party. You can watch the full play here: https://youtu.be/vwJP5hEgiAk?si=jCMHumDewolsKDfM

Did Jesus need “positive thinking” to work miracles? In His home town the scriptures say He could do no mighty works there because of their unbelief.

No! He could do no mighty works because they didn’t believe and so, they didn’t come to Him. We need to know that He can do those mighty works … and that He is willing.

This past Sunday afternoon (most of) our Royal Rangers headed out to launch the rockets they have been building over the past month to complete their rocketry badge!

They had a great time and had great leadership! Thank you to Titus Johnson, Andy Drake, Don Massey, Mark Eaton, and Daniel Holley for played a part in helping the boys accomplish this merit.

Like Adam and Eve with the forbidden fruit in their hands, sin causes us to hide from God’s grace and forgiveness. Sometimes the worst thing about sin is not what we’ve done, like a bite from an apple. The worst thing may be what sin can do to us.

Spoiler alert: There is a remedy.
