What a wonderful program we had today as we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with Ernesto and Irma Robledo!
Ernesto shared his journey from Mexico to Texas and eventually to North Carolina, reminding us of the importance of following God’s calling, even when we don’t know exactly where that calling will lead. He shared how grateful he is to God and his family for helping him along the way and for the blessing of seeing his family make it through college and build lives of service and purpose.
Irma had us laughing as she shared stories of growing up in a migrant worker family, meeting Ernesto at church, and eventually moving to North Carolina with their three children and not knowing quite what to expect. She proudly shared about each of their children and the kind, loving people they have become, as well as their shared commitment to education.
We were also so happy to welcome visitors from Star United Methodist Church to celebrate with us!
It was a beautiful time of storytelling, laughter, faith, family, and gratitude. We are thankful for the Robledo family and for the many ways Hispanic heritage has enriched our church and our community. What a wonderful reminder that when we follow God’s calling, He can take us places we never expected!
