Riverbend Church

Riverbend Church Our Bend Church Plant is in partnership with the A Jesus Church Family.

God is calling us to be the family of God, on the mission of God, making disciples of Jesus in the heart of Bend. Our vision is to see an unified collection of Missional Communities who identify the pocket of Bend they are uniquely suited to share the Gospel of Jesus with, and who live together on mission there.

He is not here….The King is risen! What looked like the end was not the end! The grave could not hold Him. Because of that, we don’t gather out of Sunday routine, we gather with hope, with joy, and with something real to celebrate.

Bring your people and join us this morning at Riverbend. We can’t wait to celebrate with you all!

Kids classes will be available for Nursery through Pre-K, and Kindergarten and up will join in the main gathering.

Every year on the first Sunday we “look back” on the previous year and “look forward” to the coming one. It’s become a holy rhythm for us to reset our hope on following Jesus.

Practice reflecting this week on who God is and what He has done as we believe for a year of restoration ahead and all that He will do.

Today, we remember the darkness that fell, the veil that tore, and the Lamb who was slain. Good Friday invites us to weep— but not without hope.

Even in silence, heaven was not absent — it was at work. What seemed like defeat was the undoing of death itself. Friday breaks our hearts — but Sunday restores them.

Throughout this series, we’ve seen how each person has a unique and essential role in the church. Here are a few more ways God is working through His people at Riverbend:

Tyler - has been a faithful leader since he was in grade school. He and his wife Amanda moved to Bend to be part of this church plant, and his dedication has never wavered. As a sound engineer, his role is often unnoticed—until he’s not there. Let’s just say, without Tyler, we’ve had some interesting “hot mic” moments. His work may be in the background, but it plays a crucial role in the ministry of Riverbend.

Trinity - experienced a personal spiritual awakening that completely changed her life, and now she is using her story and passion to invest in the next generation. She serves as a youth leader, walking alongside students as they grow in their faith. Trinity’s commitment to showing up, building relationships, and pointing young people to Jesus is a powerful example of what it means to be the body of Christ in action.

Val - has a deep passion for prayer and a strong leadership gift. As one of our prayer deacons, she plays a crucial role in organizing the team that intercedes for our church every Sunday. Her dedication ensures that every service is covered in prayer, creating space for God to move. Her leadership in this ministry is invaluable.

Kelsey - is a gifted administrator with a heart for service. She plays a key role on the women’s team, organizing and managing the details for events like the women’s retreat, all while balancing a full-time job. Her organizational skills are a huge asset, ensuring everything runs smoothly. On top of that, she also serves at Alpha, furthering her commitment to our community. Kelsey’s ability to juggle it all and serve with excellence is a true testament to her heart for God’s work.

Each of these people—and so many others—show what it means to be the body of Christ. let’s continue to encourage and uplift one another, recognizing the unique gifts God has placed within each of us.

We had an incredible time worshiping together last Sunday as we continued our “We Are the Body of Christ” series.

Here are some practices we are committing to as a church:

1. Tell someone they matter: Thank them for how they’ve served. A message, a card, or a kind word can go a long way.

2. Shift your mindset: Instead of asking, “Do I connect with this person?” ask, “How is God using them for His Kingdom?”

3. Eagerly desire the greater gifts: Pray for the Holy Spirit to move in power among us.

Let’s build each other up. Holy Spirit come.

Meet Brittany, Chet and Michael- three incredible examples of what it means to be the body of Christ in action.

Brittany - is a faithful and Spirit-led presence behind so many of our ministries. Whether she’s organizing logistics, managing volunteers, or offering prophetic words that speak directly to the heart, her gifts remind us that spiritual gifts flow from a deeper source—God’s grace working through us.

Chet - embodies the gift of mercy, humbly serving wherever there’s a need. Whether it’s helping with kids’ ministry, volunteering with Helping Hands, or holding it down in the early morning prayer room, his service is a beautiful reflection of God’s love in action.

Michael - serves with quiet strength and unwavering faithfulness, often behind the scenes where his impact is deeply felt but not always seen. In Kids Ministry and Alpha, he’s the one organizing, setting up, and ensuring everything is ready for others to encounter Jesus. His dependable presence and commitment remind us that the unseen parts of the body are just as vital.

Together, Chet, Michael, and Brittany remind us that every role in the body of Christ matters. Whether it’s seen or unseen, each gift is a reflection of God’s love working through us to build His church. Let’s celebrate their faithfulness and be inspired to step into our own God-given roles.
