This past weekend, we celebrated the end of summer with our Fall Harvest Gathering - harvest apples from the orchard and vegetables from the garden. After the dry summer heat, the soil is parched, but temperatures are beginning to cool, inviting outdoor relaxation and peaceful contemplation. In the coming months, we'll receive the first rains, resuscitating the fungi, banana slugs and vegetation that coat the forest floor as the moisture breaths life into our soils and streams.
