This Friday, my daughter Emily will join me as a volunteer manning a Giving Machine at the Washington Square Mall. If you’ve thought about giving, we would love to help you do so. And we would love to see you! Our shift is from 1pm-3pm.

Additional details: Hello Beaverton stake Giving Machine volunteers-

Thank you for volunteering to help at the Giving Machines on Friday, December 26. The Giving Machines are located at the same spot as last year- at Washington Square Mall- between the 85Degree Bakery and TMobile and across the indoor front main entrance of Nordstroms.

One of the Giving Machine’s recipient organizations is Blanchet House. Some of their representatives will be there to answer shoppers questions about their organization. Please give them a warm welcome when you meet them.

This year the Giving Machines are new computerized machines. Rather than the ‘drop down’ items, these machines are digital graphic displays, easy to use and self explanatory.

The Giving Machines are considered a gift to the community from the church. The Giving Machines are not a proselytizing tool. 100% of donations go to the community organizations. The church covers all other overhead expenses.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released the 2025 Light the World video, “The First Christmas Story, by Children,” inviting people to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ by sharing His light with others.

The video features children reenacting and reciting the Nativity story found in Luke 2 interspersed between scenes from the Church’s 2019 video, “The Christ Child.”

The video includes an invitation to “experience the joy that comes from the Savior of the world” and is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French.
