September 2026
As we move into September, I want to take a moment to look back with gratitude and look ahead to what the Lord has before us as a church family.
Looking Back
Our Back to School Bash was a wonderful day of fellowship and outreach! I am incredibly thankful for everyone who volunteered, helped prepare, served food, worked with the kids, cleaned up, or helped in any other way. Events like these take many willing hands, and I am grateful for a church that is willing to serve together.
Thank you to everyone who gave their time and effort to help us love and serve our community well.
Looking Ahead
There are several important dates coming up this month:
* September 8 — Final Session of “Not My Jesus” - We will conclude our Tuesday evening discipleship study on September 8. Thank you to everyone who has participated throughout the study. We have enjoyed much good and fruitful discussion over the past 7 weeks.
* September 17–20 — Revival Meeting
Please continue praying (and fasting if you have chosen to participate) for our upcoming revival meeting. Pray for those who will preach and sing, for visitors who may attend, for the salvation of the lost, and for genuine spiritual renewal among us. More than simply having a series of special services, our desire is that God would work powerfully through His Word in the hearts of His people.
* September 27 — Communion
We will observe the Lord’s Supper together at the conclusion of morning worship as we remember and proclaim the death of Christ on our behalf.
Thought for the Month
“Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?” — Psalm 85:6
As we approach our revival meeting, this verse provides an important reminder about what revival actually is. The psalmist does not merely ask God for better circumstances. He asks God to revive His people. Revival is not something we can schedule on a church calendar. We can schedule meetings. We can invite a preacher. We can prepare music, make announcements, and open the doors. But only God can revive His people.
And notice the result: “that your people may rejoice in you.” True revival turns our attention back toward God. It renews our hunger for His Word. It exposes sin that we have tolerated. It restores neglected prayer. It rekindles love for Christ. It reminds us that our greatest joy is not found in our circumstances, our possessions, or even the activities of the church—but in God Himself.
So as September 17 approaches, my prayer is not simply that we would have good attendance or enjoyable services. My prayer is that God would search us, humble us, cleanse us, and renew within us a holy desire for Him. May our prayer together be: “Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?”
