This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost, the coming of the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity. The day of Pentecost fulfills the promise of Jesus that in his absence, Abba Father would send the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, who will teach us everything about the words of Christ and what it means to live the Jesus Way. The Day of Pentecost also marks the bold witness of Peter in the streets of Jerusalem calling people to faith in Jesus Christ. "Call on his name," Peter declared, "and you will be saved." From this point on, the church was born and began to spread around the world.

🌷 It was Abraham Lincoln who said, "All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother." We offer a prayer of thanksgiving for the one who loved and nurtured us into who we are today. As a community of faith, we participate again in the annual Mother's Day Offering that supports the five Presbyterian Communities/Villages in the state of South Carolina.

đź‘Ź Last Sunday was a special day in the life of Sea Island as our youth and children, future leaders in the life of the church, led us in the celebration of worship and the affirmation of our Christian faith. The Sunday Dinner following the morning services was a delicious and filling finish and our children and youth are thankful for the many parents and adult volunteers who made everything so successful. Donations and proceeds will provide support and scholarships for our children and youth attending the Montreat Worship & Music Conference in June and the Montreat Youth Conference in July.

🍳 Men's Breakfast on Saturday
Men of the Church will gather Saturday morning around 7:30 to 8:00 am for their monthly breakfast of eggs and bacon, hash browns, grits and toast, an assortment of fruits andjuices and plenty of hot coffee. Following grace for our breakfast and a blessing for our fellowship, we simply find a seat, share a round of introductions, break bread, and talk and visit about "matters of the day" in a Christian context.

Confirmation Class of 2026 🙌
We celebrate with this year’s Confirmation class and their families—11 confirmands strong! This group was especially unique, with two students all the way from Rome 🇮🇹 ��Each confirmand shared a powerful personal statement of faith with our Session, reflecting on what they’ve learned about Scripture, the church, and—most importantly—what it means not just to know about Jesus but to know Jesus personally and walk with Him daily.
The Session joyfully received them into membership and they made their profession of faith on Easter Sunday. Together let us affirm a beautiful statement of faith written by the class:
“By way of the risen Christ, we believe God’s light shines in the darkness.” ✨

"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters, he restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me . . . (The 23rd Psalm)

As we approach the latter half of April, may we keep in mind that there are those in our midst who are very much in need of our prayers of intercession. As sisters and brothers in Christ, let us lift our hearts on behalf of all who trust in the Great Physician for the mercy of his healing and recovery.
