"It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.

The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, “Surely this was a righteous man.” When all the people who had gathered to witness this sight saw what took place, they beat their breasts and went away. But all those who knew him, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things." (Luke 23:44-49)

Happy Good Friday everyone. May we all find time today to reflect on the crucifixion, in sober gratitude for what the Lord has done for us.

Happy vernal equinox! Aka the first day of spring, this day marks the end of winter, as we see, hear, and feel signs of new life popping up all around us.

More importantly, in just two weeks, we will celebrate Easter Sunday. Easter is the celebration of Jesus's resurrection, as we acknowledge the new life that has been given to us because Jesus died and rose again.

The Apostle Paul, in a letter to his disciple Timothy, referred to the church as "God's household". It is God's people, and it is the place where they come together.

He also referred to the church as "the pillar and foundation of truth". You can find truth in various places, and various places offer community. But there is only one place that stands as the foundation of both.
