FPMT has launched the FPMT Emergency Relief Fund to provide immediate support to affected communities. This fund assists individuals and families impacted by natural disasters, emergency situations at FPMT centers and projects, and other urgent crises requiring swift aid.

We are currently utilizing this fund to raise relief funds for those impacted by the flooding that occurred on August 26 along the Bhote Koshi River on the Nepal-Tibet border. The floodwaters have swept away entire villages, homes, roads, bridges, and essential infrastructure across Rasuwa and neighboring districts. The scale of this disaster is still unfolding, with many people remaining unaccounted for and entire communities displaced.

FPMT is working directly with Kopan Monastery to identify those most in need and help ensure that support reaches affected families directly.

The FPMT Emergency Relief Fund provides immediate support to communities connected with FPMT around the world. The fund assists people and families affected by natural disasters, emergencies at FPMT centers and projects, and other urgent

Happy Chökhor Düchen and International Sangha Day! Today, the Tibetan Buddhist festival day of Chökhor Düchen, marks Shakyamuni Buddha’s first teaching, when the Buddha taught the Four Noble Truths in Sarnath, near Varanasi. This day is one of the four great holy days of the Tibetan calendar and is considered to be very auspicious for practice.

Did you know that Chökhor Düchen is also when the FPMT celebrates International Sangha Day?! AND this day is also when Milarepa Center makes an annual offering to the International Mahyana Institute (IMI), the FPMT's community of ordained sangha. Join us in making an offering to the IMI on this special day! 🙏🙏

However you choose to celebrate, we wish you a most joyous day!

We have had a few private retreat cancellations and now have a bit more summer/fall availability, email us for an application if you are feeling called to do retreat! Many religious traditions hold retreat as a very profound and sacred practice.

"Retreat time helps in maintaining a healthy perspective. A retreat is not synonymous with a vacation; the former has an intentional austerity. The radically simplified environment discourages inner clutter. In most religious houses there is “nothing to do”—no games, no distractions, no loud noises, no TV, no busyness. Instead, there is silence, simple food, adequate space, and the security of being surrounded by a praying community. For those of us who get trapped in crowded schedules and fall into the dangerous and sinful delusion that we, the administrative assistants of a well-meaning but inefficient CEO God, are really the ones who hold up the world, even a brief retreat is a powerful corrective. When we have slowed down, we are able to look at ourselves and smile at our pitiful little constructs. Our humility is restored; at least for a little while, we are reminded of our true place in the order of things." -Holy Listening, Martha Guenther

It was a beautiful potluck and open house day here at Milarepa Center yesterday! Many came to visit the center and enjoy the day. Our hearts (and bellies) were filled with great conversation, lots of laughter, and delicious food! Unfortunately, we missed getting some people in the photo but nonetheless we were so glad you all were here!🙏❤️📿
