Jesus sees Matthew. Jesus encounters Matthew. Jesus speaks to Matthew, and Matthew responds. Come on Sunday, June 7 at 10am to share in the Eucharist with the Rev. Ann Hockridge and consider what it means to follow out of love, not only obedience.

Pentecost worship on Sunday, May 24 at 10am.

Effortlessly,
Love flows from God into humanity,
Like a bird
Who rivers the air
Without moving her wings.
Thus we move in God’s world,
One in body and soul,
Though outwardly separate in form.
As the Source strikes the note,
Humanity sings –
The Holy Spirit is our harpist,
And all strings
Which are touched in Love
Must sound.
— Mechtild of Magdeburg 1207-1297, trans. Jane Hirshfield

This Sunday, May 17, we hear this part of Jesus' story: "When Jesus had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight." And so we mark the Feast of the Ascension, when we celebrate the ascended Lord, who was no longer anywhere on earth, so that he could be everywhere instead.

This week we hear Jesus preparing his followers for his departure in one of his last teachings. And it's all about love, the Holy Spirit, love, following, love, the commandments, and...love. Join in Morning Prayer at 10am on Sunday, May 10 and consider love and how it is present in our lives.

It's time for our Episcopal Visitation! It's this Sunday, May 3, at 11am. The Rt. Rev. Dr. Shannon MacVean-Brown, the 11th Episcopal Bishop of Vermont, will preach and celebrate the Eucharist.
Did you know? The Episcopal Church derives its name from the Greek word "episkopos" (overseer or bishop). Our bishops provide leadership and continue the work of the first apostles.
Welcome, Bishop Shannon!

This Sunday, April 19, at 10am we are on the road to Emmaus with Jesus, then he joins us for a meal. We learn that God shows up during a quiet walk on a back road. That God is made known around our dinner tables. That God is revealed when we take, bless, break, and give.

Much of the story is shrouded in mystery. But there is one moment we easily understand -- that Jesus stands at the grave of his friend Lazarus and cries. The Jesus who weeps is also the Jesus who resurrects. Our journey is not to the grave, but through it.
