Ayden Original Free Will Baptist Church was first founded as Spring Branch Free Will Baptist Church by Fred McGlohon and T.N. Later in 1896 during a Union Meeting held with the Spring Branch Church it was decided that there would be a school for the denomation. Ayden Seminary was opened in 1898 until 1925. That year when the Seminary had opened Spring Branch Church voted to re-locate to the Semina

ry to better aid the students. In September of 1926, the Seminary was closed and it was replaced with Eureka College and then again Sprimg Branch (now Ayden FWB) moved to the location of the College. The College had a short run and was only used as a school until 1929 but was still used as the Church for Ayden FWB until 1931 when the College burned to the ground. The only building left of the College was the boy’s dormitory that was converted into a house. Moye, the president of the Board of Trustees of Eureka College gave the bricks of the main building of the College that had burned down to be used to build the church that stands today. The Church was open in 1933 and finished in 1934.
