While the weather prevented us from having our planned outdoor service, we still got to celebrate inside with some special music!

As many begin a new school year, we pause to pray for students, teachers, staff, and families stepping into new routines, new challenges, and new opportunities:

God of wisdom and new beginnings,
be present in every classroom, hallway, and bus ride.

Give students curiosity that leads them to learn,
courage to try what feels hard,
and kindness toward those around them.

Strengthen teachers and staff with patience, clarity, and care
as they guide, support, and encourage each day.

Be near to families adjusting to new rhythms.
Bring steadiness to busy mornings and rest at the end of long days.

Watch over every space where learning happens.
Keep each one safe, supported, and known.

In all things, remind us that growth takes time,
and that no one walks this year alone.

Today the kids and their backpacks were blessed for the new school year starting soon! Then after service they picked out a charm or two to have on their pencils to remind them that God is always with them. We followed it up with a quick discussion and craft of coloring their box of crayons filled with Christ like characteristics.

Today, we blessed the backpacks for our kids returning to school in the coming weeks. We prayed for all those starting a new year, and for health and safety for all students, teachers, parents, and staff.

Pastor Dawn is on vacation this week, so we were blessed to have Pastor Pam Kelly fill in as we learned about faith and that there’s more to it than walking on water.

We want to change things up and let our neighbors hear us worship! We will be worshipping on the front lawn and part of the side driveway for those who need a hard flat surface. We will have special music, too.
