Dear Zoar Family,
This morning I’m delivering a difficult announcement.
God has made it clear that my time of pastoring Zoar is coming to an end. My last Sunday will be July 26th.
Some things I want you to know:
1. I’m not leaving in anger or frustration with the church or anyone in the church.
2. I and the family are well. I love my Lord Jesus. My marriage with Drema is well. The kids are well. I’m not cutting off any relationships from Zoar and we don’t have any plans to relocate.
3. I’m not leaving for another church or ministry. We are stepping back and seeking God for direction.
4. I do not believe God is finished with Zoar. I’m very hopeful for Zoar and desire the absolute best for her.
5. I do not know who the next Pastor will be, but God does. Take great confidence in that fact.
Make no mistake, Zoar will ALWAYS hold a dear place in my heart and my family’s heart. We love Zoar!
It has been an absolute pleasure and privilege to serve at and with our dear brothers and sisters in Christ at Zoar for the last 10 years.
God did the impossible and I’m grateful I got a front row seat to see Him work. It was glorious!
I’m grateful for the souls He saved (including my two daughters) and the lives He transformed.
May all the glory, honor, and praise go to Jesus!
I thank God and thank you for letting me be apart of it.
Don’t be discouraged. God is still very much alive and working. Abound in hope. Have confidence in Him.
Zoar has always been His church.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
Romans 15:13 ESV
With much affection,
Pastor Michael Cheshire
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
