Unitarian scientist Joseph Priestly is most famous among modern scientists for the discovery and isolation of oxygen in 1774. But during his lifetime, Priestley's scientific reputation rested on his invention of carbonated water, for which he has been called the father of the soft drink. We will learn about the controversies that surrounded his life and hear from the man himself.
