Eventually, through the practice of our values, we can become the smooth stone that brings down the giant of oppressive systems. But first we have to understand the basics and history of those who thought the same.

Come learn about the updated theological statements of UU Theologian James Luther Adams, as written by Reverend Nancy Bowen and Karishma Gottfried. Do you believe that All souls are Sacred? That there is a Unity that makes us One? Can courageous Love transform the World? And what about Salvation? What is that? And do UUs now really feel that truth continues to be revealed?

(from the Polish Brethren to the UU Church of the Philippines)-

We Unitarian Universalists have been radical heretics (from the Greek meaning “to choose”) from the very beginnings of our 450-year-old faith. Join Rev. Kev in a Global UU adventure as we trace our faith’s earliest expression from 1500s Poland to the establishment of the UU Church of the Philippines in 1955. As the inheritors of religious pluralism our liberating faith has always been rooted in love, justice and equity. What does it mean for each generation to make this faith our own? What does it mean to be a Unitarian Universalist in today’s resistance against all forms of oppression? Who could we be if we made real the values of our faith?

Sunday, July 12th- “With Community Brings Imagination” - 10:00am

Join us for a service led by Starr King seminarian Ronnie Boyd who will be sharing a message about how our imaginations can be a site of resistance in these times of increased violence, apathy, and anxiety. How we come to understand the way through this trying period will require us to imagine a future where our world is centered on our values and our deepest dreams and desires. Ronnie will draw on her experience as an organizer and work in BIPOC UU ministries.
