We're surrounded, right and left, by politicians and evangelicals who are pushing for state control and aid programs.

Some of these sound great in theory, but end up pushing our economy more and more into the hole.

💸 What does God's Word say about the living wage?

🏛 About state-funded charity?

⛪️ About tithing?

🐍 About politicians and evangelicals who use rhetoric to make us feel guilty about all kinds of things?

The answers are clear and practical. God gives us clear direction - and we've ignored His Word on these issues to our peril.

In this book, in print again for the first time in over 25 years, David Chilton in a humorous, readable, and winsome way outlines the way forward.

Approx. 350 pages, paperback, with Scripture index.

Economics can be daunting for anyone not familiar with the terminology and thought. David Chilton cuts through it all by tracing everything back to God's Word and laying a solid foundation for further reading.

"While it is fashionable for modern Christian intellectuals to speak of our civilization as 'post-Christian,' we should turn that around and make it Biblically accurate: Our culture is not post-Christian - our culture is still largely pre-Christian!"- Rev. Chilton, Days of Vengeance, pp. 56-57

Yesterday, March 7th, marked the 20th anniversary of David Chilton's entrance into the presence of the Lord. His daughter, Abigail, posted this video yesterday and wrote,

"It's been 20 years since my father passed away... 20 years in the presence of the Lord... So in honor of my Dad, I wanted to share my story... memories, the night he died, the redeeming work of Jesus and take you on a walk down memory lane."

"We must remember that America had been discovered numerous times, by other cultures; yet successful colonization and development took place only in the age of exploration began by Columbus. Why? Because these explorers were bears of the gospel, in their goal was to conquer the world for the kingdom of God. They came EXPECTING that the New World would be Christianized. They were certain of victory, and assumed that any obstacles they met had been placed there for the express purpose of being overcome." - Rev. Chilton, Paradise Restored, p. 7

Today, will WE remember that the problems and obstacles we encounter are put there to be overcome—for the glory of Christ?

". . . the coming of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost, creating and filling the New Covenant Temple, would enable believers to fulfill Ezekiel's prophecy [Ezek. 47:1–12]. Since Pentecost, rivers of living water have flowed from the hearts of believers to the 'Dead Seas' of the world, bringing life and fruitfulness to the world. No longer is God's grace static and stationary. No longer is the water of life available only to a few. Eternal life, cleansing, and refreshment are flowing from the Church throughout the world. The world's pattern of influence has been reversed. Sin will no longer have the upper hand. Corruption cannot win the battle. The Spirit has been poured out from the glorified Lord, and all the 'dynamis' is on the side of the Church!" — Rev. Chilton, Power in the Blood, p. 160.

This week, and this year, how can we bring the water of life to those around us—our families, our work, our homes, our churches, our neighborhoods? What is flowing out of each of us—the power, or dynamis, of Christ; or stagnation and death?

"How do Christians rule? Christians rule by serving. Dominion is not domination; far from it. Biblical dominion is ministry to the needs of others. 'Whoever desires to be first shall be the slave of all.' . . . Our desire for dominion and rule—if it is really a desire for godly authority—will be demonstrated in our degree of service toward others. The true ruler, in our Lord's terms, is the one who puts himself most at the disposal of others. Our level of greatness is shown in our degree of submission and ministry." — Rev. Chilton, Power in the Blood, p. 102.

In this coming year, how can WE be more honoring to the Lord in how we "rule" those who are "under us"—through humbling ourselves in service to them? As fathers and mothers? As business owners? As pastors and ministers?

"God is God. You are not." - Rev. Chilton

May our Lord help us always to remember His Sovereignty - and live in terms of His Providence!

“The unbiblical idea of "spirituality" is that the truly "spiritual" man is the person who is sort of "non-physical," who doesn't get involved in "earthly" things, who doesn't work very much or think very hard, and who spends most of his time meditating about how he'd rather be in heaven. As long as he's on earth, though, he has one main duty in life: Get stepped on for Jesus. The "spiritual" man, in this view, is a wimp. A Loser. But at least he's a Good Loser.”
