Today Trailmen joined with American Heritage Girls, Scouts, and members of other local organizations to honor our veterans by placing flags on the gravesites of those that have served. Thank you to all those that have served to protect the freedoms that we enjoy. We remember and honor your sacrifice this Memorial Day.

We wanted to share an important update from the Placer Sportsmen, Inc. & Auburn Recreation District regarding the Kid’s Fishing Derby.

Due to extreme heat, this year’s event has been canceled. The high temperatures can create unsafe conditions for the fish, and the decision was made to protect the environment and wildlife.

We know this is a well-loved community event and many look forward to it each year. We’re simply helping spread the word so everyone stays informed.

Join us at ARD’s annual fishing derby.

Presented by the Placer Sportsman, the FREE Fishing Derby is on Saturday, March 28th and starts at sunrise and runs until 10:30am. This fun event is for kids up to 15 years old and will take place at Regional Park (3770 Richardson Drive, Auburn). If needed, all fishing gear will be provided and all kids will receive a free hat, hot cocoa, and a hot dog!

This years lock in included our first ever Worthy Derby (Pinewood Derby). Orange creamsicle took first place. We had our annual epic nerf battle. Popcorn, slushes, and a movie before turning in for the night. Good opportunity for Trailmen to test out their camping gear in advance of the upcoming camping season. National Campout is just around the corner.

We had a great time at the January Hit the Trail. Trailmen learned how to use wood tools, how to build fires, and how to do some outdoor cooking.

We had a wonderful time at our Operation Christmas Child packing party and successfully put together 50 shoeboxes for kids around the world, they will not only receive a tangible gift but also hear the Good News of Jesus Christ l. Thank you to everyone who pitched in!

If you're still working on a box, you have until November 24th to drop it off! Let's reach even more children!

We are also honored to be volunteering our time to help load the regional collection trucks. It’s a great reminder that even small acts of service come together to accomplish something huge. Join the giving! ❤️
