How can it be our last day of VBS already?!! It’s been a great week of learning, singing, playing and praying!! 😇Today’s Bible story comes from Luke 10:25-37, the parable of the Good Samaritan where we learned that peacemakers take action when others are hurt. Throughout our week, we also collected donations for Catholic Charities’ Family Shelter. Celebrating Mass each day was a great way to close our time together with parents and other parishioners. May the children move through the summer feeling Jesus’s presence as He walks beside them each and every day!! God bless them, their families and all of the helpers this week. ❤️

Day 4 of “Passport to Peace” took us to Genesis 26:12-33 and the story of Isaac and his jealous neighbors. As a peacemaking strategy, walking away from disagreements can give everyone a chance to cool off without harming relationships. When have you walked away from a conflict? As we come to the end of our week, the children are really enjoying the songs and participating with the actions! It’s fun to watch them sing!!

Day 3 of our “Passport to Peace” and our Bible story focused on a little known story in 1 Samuel (25:1-35) about David, Nabal and Nabal’s wife Abigail. We learned that sometimes you have to be creative in order to make peace and keep people safe. Can you think of a time when you did something creative that diffused a tense situation and kept the peace? The songs are a fun part of our morning and the children are really getting into the actions!!

Day 2 of our “Passport to Peace”!! Today our Bible story was from Matthew 25:31-46 where Jesus talked about the sheep and the goats. When we care for others, we are also caring for Jesus! Chat with your children about when they have helped someone in the last day or two. Were there times they needed help and no one offered? These “Works of Mercy” are ways we show Jesus that we love him!! 😇

Day 1 of our VBS “Passport to Peace” is in the books!! Our Bible story today came from the book of Acts with Phillip and the Ethiopian and we learned that peacemakers listen to and learn from people who are different. What are some ways we can do this? We also celebrated the Feast Day of SS. Peter and Paul, our parish patron saints, by making a pipe cleaner fish and signing cards to send a “spiritual bouquet” to some of our parish family.
