United Church of Christ of Atlantic, IA Christian Disciples empowered by the Spirit to serve all people through Jesus Christ. We truly are a United Church of Christ.

Our church family was originally made up of three different congregations. The First Congregational Church, was founded in 1869. Soon after New Year's Day in 1870, the first bell in Atlantic rang from the First Congregational Church tower. This is the same bell that we ring to begin our worship time today. The second Church, the Peace Evangelical Church, began in 1887. Through a long series of nat

ional mergers, these two churches became one, Trinity United Church of Christ, in 1960. They completed this building and dedicated it to the glory of Jesus Christ in 1968. the First Christian Church, birthed in 1891, completed us in 1969, and we became the United church of Christ of Atlantic. Now our church family includes people from all backgrounds and denominations. All are welcome here, so come as you are!
