Knights of Columbus - Georgia State Council

Knights of Columbus - Georgia State Council The Georgia State Council of the Knights of Columbus was chartered on May 31, 1903. We strive to be the premier Catholic lay organization in Georgia.

Founded by Father Michael J. McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1882, the Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Originally serving as a mutual benefit society for Catholic families by providing financial aid to members and their families, it has developed into a fraternal benefit society that remains focused on strengthening Catholic families while

also providing charitable services to the community, promoting Catholic education, and actively defending the Catholic faith in nations around the world. Dedicated to the principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism, our 1.9 million members of more than 15,000 councils donate more than 70 million hours of service each year and donate more than $170 million to various charities throughout the world.

⚾️ What a great Knights of Columbus Night with the Gwinnett Stripers! ⚾️

A special thank you to Georgia Knights of Columbus Immediate Past State Deputy TJ McCaustland for throwing out the ceremonial first pitch, and to the Lanier Assembly Color Guard for their outstanding presentation of the colors.

It was a wonderful evening of fraternity, patriotism, and baseball, bringing together Knights, families, and friends for a memorable night at the ballpark.

Congratulations Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly

Knights of Columbus Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly yesterday gratefully accepted the 2026 Path to Peace Award from the Path to Peace Gala Foundation. The Path to Peace Gala Foundation, in support of the work of the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations in New York and urgent humanitarian causes, honors an individual each year for outstanding service to the cause of peace. The Path to Peace Award was presented to Supreme Knight Kelly by Archbishop Gabriele G. Caccia, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States and Path to Peace Foundation President.

The Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations was officially established on April 6, 1964 and has since been a prominent leader in the advancement of peace and justice in the international community, serving as a vehicle for promoting the teachings of the Catholic Church.

“On behalf of more than 2.2 million Knights of Columbus around the world, it’s an incredible honor to accept the Path to Peace Award from the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations,” said Supreme Knight Kelly. “More than 140 years ago, Blessed Michael McGivney founded the Knights on the pillars of charity, unity, and fraternity. Today, we are proud to continue this mission around the world, in our parish councils and communities, and in nations facing the devasting impacts of war and religious intolerance. We pray that our efforts will help to bring peace and ease suffering, as we give witness to the hope that comes from Jesus Christ.”

The 2026 Warriors to Lourdes pilgrimage will be held in Lourdes, France May 19-25, 2026. Over 200 U.S. wounded warriors, caregivers and volunteers will be in attendance, along with the militaries from over 40 nations. Please join the Knights in praying for our warriors as they seek healing and peace:

Almighty God and Father,

Look with love upon our men and women in uniform and protect them in their time of need.

Give them health and stability and allow them to return to their loved ones whole and unshaken.

Be with their families and sustain them in these uncertain times.

Grant strength and peace of mind to the Veterans who have given their best for the country they love.

Support them in infirmity and in the fragility of old age.

Teach us to remember their sacrifices and to express our gratitude.

Manifest your tender care to those in the Military Academies who prepare for future service and to those who serve our Nation far from home.

Teach us to remember the sacrifices of those whose efforts contribute to ensuring our way of life.

Bless and multiply the priests who minister to the faithful of the Archdiocese for the Military Services.

Reward their generosity and keep them faithful.

Hear us as we present our prayers to You through Christ our Lord.

Amen.
