The organization began as a volunteer-driven effort in response to learning local children face each day not knowing if they will get

enough to eat and has grown into an organization that finds and fills the needs of individuals and families in our community. Through three ministries, Straight Street works to meet people where they are at, bring them hope and ultimately transform their lives. BackPack Love – The BackPack Love program began in 2010 and weekly provides food to families in our community. Working through school counselors, we identify children in need of food and send a backpack home each Friday filled with enough food to sustain a family of five over the weekend. We currently partner with 50 Hall County and Gainesville City elementary and middle schools to provide 450-600 backpacks to students weekly. Our nine church partners and other volunteer groups pack the backpacks and deliver them to the schools each week. SS Impact – A grassroots volunteer-driven ministry that puts our love into action by doing miscellaneous jobs for those in need, typically widows, single mothers and the elderly living in low-income communities. The current program mobilizes volunteers to do work projects such as yard work or painting for individuals or neighborhoods with the goal of making a lasting impact on their lives. Beautiful Feet – Straight Street’s Beautiful Feet program began in 2012 and seeks to reach and support victims of commercial sexual exploitation. To reach these victims, we must meet them where they are at; thus, our team of trained volunteers minister through jail, club and cyber outreach programs. After offering our meal and prayer ministries, we work to connect the women with resources to help them get to a safe place, most frequently partnering with Out of Darkness to provide its 24-hour hotline women can call for immediate rescue.

Push-up for a Purpose was an incredible morning of community, encouragement, and support for the mission of Straight Street. 💪

A huge thank you to Burn Boot Camp - Braselton, GA for partnering with us and hosting such an amazing event, and thank you to every person who showed up, participated, volunteered, donated, and cheered others on throughout the morning.

Special shoutout to our Founder, Todd Robson, for completing an incredible 1,715 pushups in one hour during the event, and to Bekah Turgeon, Burn Boot Camp Braselton's Manager, for coordinating such an amazing morning and helping bring Push-up for a Purpose to life!

We’re so grateful for a community that continues to rally behind the work happening through Straight Street. We’re excited to share more soon as we finalize the results and total impact from the fundraiser.

Identity rooted in who God is changes everything.

One of our Beautiful Feet residents recently reflected on the attributes of God and how those truths have shaped her own story and healing journey.
