Are you an energetic family and youth-oriented person passionate about sharing the love of Christ, building relationships, and helping individuals and families grow in their faith?

Athens First Methodist Church (AFMC), a welcoming 300-member congregation in Athens, Texas, is seeking an energetic, innovative family and youth-oriented person, and faith-driven Associate Pastor to join our ministry team!

We are looking for someone with a heart for family and youth ministry, discipleship, and community outreach who is excited about reaching new people, equipping followers of Jesus Christ, and helping our church continue to grow in faith and service.

🙏 As our Associate Pastor, you will:

Partner with our Senior Pastor in shepherding and serving our congregation.

Help lead and develop discipleship, family ministry, and community outreach programs.

Inspire and equip individuals and families to deepen their relationships with Christ.

Share in teaching, preaching, pastoral care, and congregational leadership.

Assist in overseeing the daily operations and ministries of the church.

đź“– We're looking for someone who:

Has a strong personal faith and a genuine calling to pastoral ministry.

Is energetic, creative, and passionate about reaching people of all ages, especially youth and families.

Possesses strong teaching, preaching, communication, and leadership skills.

Has a heart for pastoral care, building relationships, and serving the community.

Has completed or is currently pursuing a seminary degree that includes Wesleyan studies.

đź’Ľ Position: Full-Time Associate Pastor

đź’° Compensation: Competitive salary, housing allowance, and reimbursable ministry expenses, with compensation negotiable based on education and experience.

Athens First Methodist Church (AFMC) in Athens, Texas, is seeking a part-time Music Director/Worship Leader to join our ministry team!

As a vibrant 300-member congregation, Athens First offers a variety of choir and music ministry opportunities. We're looking for someone who can bring creativity, leadership, and a heart for worship to help us continue building a music ministry that inspires, encourages, and brings people closer to Christ.

Our Music Director/Worship Leader will work alongside our pastors to develop and lead meaningful musical worship experiences, direct our choir, and help foster an environment where people of all ages can experience God's presence through music.

🌟 Athens First Is Seeking a Part-Time Children’s Director! 🌟
Do you—or someone you know—have a passion for sharing the love of Christ with children and their families? Athens First Methodist Church (AFMC), a 300-member congregation in Athens, Texas, is seeking a part-time Children’s Director to join our ministry team.
Our Children’s Director will partner with our pastors to help lead, coordinate, and grow ministries that give children opportunities to know Christ, grow in their faith, and become an active part of the life of the church.
Responsibilities will include coordinating Sunday School and Children’s Church, helping lead Vacation Bible School, and developing other engaging programs and activities that encourage children—and their families—to grow together in faith.
We’re looking for someone who brings creativity, flexibility, patience, imagination, and a strong personal commitment to Christian faith to this ministry. A competitive salary is offered and is negotiable based on education and experience.

Remembering September 11 — 9:03 AM CDT

Twenty-five years ago today, at 9:03 AM CDT (10:03 AM EDT), United Airlines Flight 93 crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. After learning that their aircraft had been hijacked as part of the attacks unfolding that morning, passengers and crew courageously fought back against the hijackers. Their actions prevented the aircraft from reaching its intended target, believed to have been the U.S. Capitol.

At this hour of remembrance, we invite you to pause wherever you are and pray. Pray for the families and loved ones of the passengers and crew who lost their lives, and offer a prayer of gratitude for the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of those aboard Flight 93 who acted to protect countless others.

With this fourth candle, we remember that even in the darkest moments, the light of God remains present—revealed through courage, selflessness, sacrifice, and love for others.

Today, we honor the passengers and crew of Flight 93 and remember the courage they showed when faced with unimaginable circumstances.

We remember. We honor. We pray. We will never forget. 🕯️
