Worship for Sunday, May 31, 2026
Scripture: Matthew 28:16-20
Dear Friends,
"Father, Son, and Holy Spirit" — church people have said these words more times than they can count in their lives. Many people who have not been part of a church recognize these words as well. You will find them in our church's liturgy and worship; the United Methodist Church, like almost every other Christian denomination, believes in the doctrine of the Trinity. The words might be familiar, and we might have been saying them for a very long time, but explaining and understanding the Trinity continue to challenge Christians and others.
This Sunday is Trinity Sunday, and I invite you to consider God as God, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jot each one down. (Sometimes the Trinity is also described as Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer, and in other ways.) How does each one mean something different to you? How have you experienced each one? How has each one acted in the life of the church? Trinity Sunday is not a much-celebrated or well-loved special day in the life of the church, but it calls us to deeper and fuller understanding of God. What might be revealed to us this year?
You are invited to join in Worship on Trinity Sunday and every Sunday at 10:00 am. Let us worship God together!
Grace and peace to you,
Pastor Michelle
