Now underground with tentacles and agents remaining for mischief, mayhem, and shenanigans The Shenanigan Society is a not-for-profit collective of jokesters, jesters, chefs, pyromaniacs, party people and sound manipulators that gather mysteriously in warehouses, fields, and random other locations for the purpose of radical self expression, sonic exploration, and communal tomfoolery. Each year they
host the secretive Lurch gathering and in 2014 they began emerging in the form of a sound camp at regional burn events. Lurch is ever evolving communal experiment in partying held in top secret locations in North and South Carolina. Influenced by Burning Man and it's regional burns, full moon gatherings, psychedelic trance festivals, backyard cookouts, and club parties, Lurch is designed to be not for profit and decomodified. The cost to pay for Lurch are raised through a year long series of fundraisers. Shenanigan Society events practice the philosophies of leave no trace, radical inclusion and self expression, and encourages participation and communal effort amongst Society members. Participants, known as Lurchers, create the overall experience and are encouraged to form themed camps to express themselves. Inclusion within Shenanigan Society is dependent only upon the active involvement and volunteerism within the Society and at it's gatherings.
