What would change if you stopped worrying about who was watching you worship and remembered who you are worshiping?

Psalm 134 is a beautiful invitation: “Bless the Lord!” Lift up your hands. Praise His name. Worship Him.

Not to be seen.
Not to prove anything.
Not for the people around you.
Not for the person sitting next to you.

You’re worshipping for an audience of One.

Yesterday we were challenged to worship extravagantly. We were reminded how freely we express ourselves outside of church when something has captured our hearts.

We lift our hands without hesitation when our team scores. We dance at our favorite concerts. We shout when we’re excited. We celebrate what we love without wondering if the person beside us thinks we look foolish.

So why can we sometimes walk into the presence of the living God with our hands in our pockets, our hearts guarded, and our bodies completely still?

There’s no shame in being expressive in worship, in lifting your hands, in singing loudly, dancing, or simply opening your heart before the Lord.

How we bless God:

1. Look up - praise the Lord!
2. Go all in - worship with all you are!
3. Receive freely - the blessings of the Lord!
4. Pour it out - we are conduits not cul-de-sacs of blessings!

And maybe for some of us, lifting our hands isn’t about becoming more emotional, maybe it’s about becoming less concerned with ourselves.

Less worried about what people think.
Less self-conscious.
Less distracted.

And more aware of who God is.

The One who loves us.
The One who saved us.
The One who is worthy of our praise.

So lift your hands, open your mouth and give Him your whole heart.

Worship freely, extravagantly and always for an audience of One.

God created us to find unity in commUNITY 🙌🏽

The delusion of self-reliance tells us we’re meant to carry it all…to be strong enough, capable enough, and independent enough to handle life on our own.

It’s one of the world’s (and enemy’s) favorite lies: you are enough.

But Scripture gives us a better way.

We were never designed for self-sufficiency.
We were designed for dependence on God.

He is not distant.
He is not detached.
He is near to the humble and faithful to sustain His children.

Psalm 131 invites us into a faith that doesn’t have to strive, control, or have all the answers…but instead to rest in God.

There is peace when we stop trying to be enough and start trusting the One who is.
