Half Day Preschool Program providing love and care for children 15 months-5 years of age. Located in Asheboro, NC

The First United Methodist Preschool program will provide a happy environment for your child, in which learning is based on clear goals of self development, resulting in fruitful activities and fun. This stress free environment allows each child the freedom to progress at his/her own rate. It is our hope and prayer that from this informal learning experience there emerges a child who has a positive self-concept; a child who is physically, emotionally, and spiritually coordinated; a child who learns to function in a group of children and adults; a child who is learning to appreciate and enjoy God’s world and the people who share the world with them; who can use language to communicate with others, to express themselves in many ways; in summary a child who is curious and wants to learn. This is a pre-school program designed to provide readiness for kindergarten. Readiness is not reading, writing, adding and subtracting for the preschooler. Instead it is interacting with others and engaging in planned activities through play that will enable him to perform these skills successfully later. Therefore, throughout our entire program you will see "work" disguised as play.

FUMP Families- TOMORROW IS THE DAY!! We can’t wait to see our FUMP friends dressed up in their favorite costumes as we celebrate together.

Please take a moment to review the details below so we can make this a fun and safe morning for everyone!

🕗 Drop-off: Regular drop-off remains at 8:15 AM.

🎃 Parade time: The parade will begin promptly at 8:45 AM. Parents, please wait in the parking lot until the parade begins. We’ll parade around the parking lot and then make our way into the school!

🏡 After the parade: Once the parade is finished, parents are welcome to head home.

⏰ Pick-up: Pick-up will remain at your child’s regular dismissal time.

🌧️ Rain plan: If rain is expected, we will communicate a backup plan to families.

🧡 Costume reminders:

• Please keep costumes preschool-friendly and not too scary.
• No weapons or fake blood, please.
• Masks may be worn during the parade only if your child can see clearly and safely while wearing them. Masks should be removed afterward.

What a wonderful day at Fogleman Farms 🍂 Our all-school field trip brought families, students, and staff together for a fun-filled day of farm adventures, making memories, and spending time together outside the classroom! ❤️

We loved seeing all those smiling faces and are so thankful to everyone who joined us for this special day!

🔥 Fire Safety Fun at FUMP! 🔥🚒

Last Friday, we had a special visit from the Asheboro Fire Department! ❤️ Our preschoolers got to learn all about fire safety from some of our local heroes while having a little fun along the way!

The highlight of the visit was a fun hands-on game where the children got to use the fire hose to spray water and knock tennis balls off their targets—with a little help from one of our awesome firefighters, of course! 💦🎾 The smiles and excitement said it all!

We are so thankful to the Asheboro Fire Department for taking the time to visit our preschool, teach our little learners important lessons, and make learning about fire safety such a memorable experience. Thank you for keeping our community safe and for being such wonderful role models for our children! 👨‍🚒🚒

Our little learners had so much fun celebrating NC Crunch Day! From curious first bites to big, happy crunches, our preschoolers enjoyed fresh, delicious apples donated by Millstone Creek Orchards and distributed by the Randolph Partnership for Children. 🍏

We love finding fun ways to help our little ones explore healthy foods, try new things, and learn about the goodness that grows right here in North Carolina! 🌱

A big THANK YOU to Millstone Creek Orchards | Ramseur, NC and the Randolph Partnership for Children for helping make this sweet (and crunchy!) experience possible. We’re so grateful for the wonderful community that helps our children grow, learn, and thrive! 🥰🍎

🍎A whole week of APPLE FUN at FUMP! 🍏

We’ve been having the sweetest time celebrating all things apples! Our students got to taste apples, dip apples, make homemade applesauce, AND make their very own mini apple pies! 🥧😍

But wait… there’s more! We also painted with apples 🎨🍎 and used apples to measure just how TALL we are! 📏😂

Needless to say, it was a VERY APPLE-y week! 🍎🍎🍎

Our students and staff had so much fun learning, creating, tasting, and making memories together. ❤️

We sure do love a week filled with a little learning, a little mess, and a whole lot of fun at FUMP! 🍏✨

Today we are celebrating Ms. Rene! 🎂

While her actual birthday was Monday, she was out enjoying a long weekend…and we couldn’t let her birthday pass by without celebrating this amazing teacher and friend! 💕

We are so thankful for all the love, patience, joy, and dedication Ms. Rene brings to our TK classroom each day. She is such a special part of our FUMP family, and we hope she feels extra celebrated today! 🥳💐

Her students were very excited to celebrate her today as well!

📣 Lunch Bunch starts again tomorrow, September 21st! 📣 It is held Monday- Thursday. $5 each day your child attends. Students bring a lunch and enjoy some extra time with friends! Dismissal is at 12:15 pm!
