We received an update on the Brethren in Nairobi from Pastor Keith Merriman (3/16/26):

"Dear beloved brethren,
Greetings in the Lord Jesus Christ. The flooding has subsided in Nairobi, Kenya but it was devastating! Here is a message from Pastor Meshack:

"'Hi Pastor Keith, praise the Lord. Our Langata CGBCI church has just lost a child tonight due to the flood, the child was exposed to cold after their house was flooded and the child was attacked by pneumonia, she was taken to hospital on Sunday night, the breathing system was blocked that she couldn't breath well unfortunately the condition deteriorated yesterday and she passed on at night.'" (picture attached)

"We were able to send $3000 to our brothers and sisters in Nairobi to help with the repairs of two roofs on church buildings and help for the families. If you would like to give to this relief fund please send to Tom and mark it Nairobi flood. God bless you for your prayers and gifts, Keith."

Nairobi, Kenya--a huge city of some 5 million people and home to many of our CGBCI brethren--has been ravaged by massive flooding. Here is a note from Pastor Keith:

"The flooding is critical in the city. Transportation is at a standstill and they are not able to go to work. Many portions of the city are underwater. All three of our churches in Nairobi are affected. I have heard from pastor Elisha that it is bringing many challenges to them as well. Food is scarce since they cannot bring it into the city and clean water is scarce as well. Pastor Meshack says prayer is most important now that the rains will stop! ... please pray now for the rain to stop and safety for our brothers and sisters some of whom have been dislocated because of the flooding."

"WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!?!" So asked the late, great R.C. Sproul, when a questioner dared challenge the justice of God's righteous wrath upon sinners. Dr. Sproul nicely sums up the basic problem of the modern church: "I mean, this is what's wrong with the Christian church today. We don't know who GOD is and we don't know who WE are." This brief video comes from the ministry of Pastor Michael Grant (whose work on YouTube I HIGHLY recommend). The issue of God's wrath is especially important, given the recent error of the influential actor Kirk Cameron, who now denies the concept of Eternal Hell, and who has thus opened up a flood of controversy in the Evangelical world that has revealed a shocking lack of clarity and orthodoxy amongst many leaders of the neo-evangelical "establishment."
