In celebration of , we want to thank the Red Cross women who have served our mission in unique ways and have stepped in to help people when it was needed most.

Red Crossers like Miss Daisy Spieler, who stayed at her teletype machine during the Washington, D.C., blackout in 1942. She wanted to make sure the wires stayed open for other Red Cross workers who were serving around the world during the war in case they needed to connect because of an emergency or to share critical information.

It’s because of people like Daisy that our mission has been possible for the last 140+ years. ❤️
