Prayer is one of the most overlooked forms of mission work.

Hudson Taylor spent decades taking the gospel to China and understood something many of us forget: our efforts matter, but God is the one who changes hearts.

“When we work, we work. When we pray, God works.”

Join us as we pray for missionaries, church planters, and the nearly 3 billion people who still have little or no access to the gospel.

There is something powerful about gathering together and worshiping Jesus freely.

This morning at Rush Creek, voices were lifted in worship, Scripture was preached, and people had the opportunity to respond to the gospel.

But today, as we recognize the unreached peoples of the world, we are reminded that nearly 3 billion people, almost one third of the world, still have little or no access to the gospel.

Many have never heard the name of Jesus.
Many have no local church nearby.
Many have no opportunity to worship like we did this morning.

Today, pray for the unreached.

Pray for churches to be planted.
Pray for laborers to be sent.
Pray for people to hear the good news of Jesus for the very first time.

Revelation 7:9 gives us the vision of where this is all headed:
“A vast multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language… standing before the throne and he before the Lamb.”

Prayer is often treated like the spare tire in the trunk.
Something we reach for only when life breaks down.

But throughout Scripture, prayer was never meant to be the backup plan for God’s people. It was the starting point.

Before Jesus chose the disciples, He prayed.
Before the early church was sent out, they prayed.
Before breakthrough came, before courage came, before direction came… prayer came first.

Too often, we treat prayer as preparation for the work, when prayer IS the work.

We want to be people who pray first. Always.
Before decisions. Before strategy. Before going. Before sending.

Because the mission of God was never meant to be carried by human strength alone.

“Devote yourselves to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving.” — Colossians 4:2

Millions of people in East Asia have little to no access to the gospel.

This October, Rush Creek is sending a team to serve alongside our mission partners in East Asia through prayer walking, relational evangelism, and encouraging local believers.

You do not have to be an expert.
You do not need to have all the answers.
You simply need to be willing to say yes to wherever God may lead.

If you’ve been praying about taking a step of obedience, maybe this is your next step.

Right now, more people live in slavery than at any other time in history.

Let that sink in.

An estimated 20 million people around the world are trapped in exploitation. Women. Men. Children. Human beings made in the image of God.

We should grieve this.
We should speak up.
We should care deeply about injustice and the suffering of the vulnerable.

But behind every form of darkness is an even deeper problem:
a world lost without Jesus.

Real freedom is not found only in broken chains, but in transformed hearts.
The gospel is still the ultimate hope for a broken world.

The Church cannot look away.
We pray.
We speak up.
We move toward the broken.
We carry the hope of Jesus into dark places.

“Speak up for those who have no voice.”
Proverbs 31:8

One of the great privileges of being a church family is carrying one another’s burdens in prayer.

Today, we’re asking you to pray for one of our missionary families serving faithfully in Europe. They have invested years into making disciples, strengthening the local church, and loving people well in a spiritually difficult place.

Right now, they are walking through a season where their daughter especially needs deep Christian community, encouragement, wisdom, and support. Please pray that God would surround her with godly friendships and provide exactly the people and community she needs in this season.

Pray also for wisdom, peace, endurance, and unity for her parents as they shepherd and care for their family while continuing to serve faithfully overseas.

We are grateful for the way this family continues to trust the Lord, and we believe prayer matters. Thank you for standing with them.
