This past Sunday marked the start of our new ministry year, with the return of Discipleship Time (our preferred term for "Sunday School") at 9 a.m. and LiFE Group evening gatherings in area homes. Following the 10 a.m. worship service, we enjoyed a (literally) sweet time of fellowship, with homemade desserts provided by one of our members.

If you do not have a church community or simply are interested in learning more about Jesus Christ and the Christian faith, we invite you to join us for worship this Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Apex Middle School auditorium, 400 E. Moore St., Apex. All are welcome!

Last night we gathered for our long-anticipated Service of Organization! This was a special worship service led by a commission of Eastern Carolina Presbytery (PCA), who established and declared ResLife to be a self-governing, particular church after almost 11 years as a church plant.

After taking vows, Ruling Elders Travis Jones and Ed Matson were ordained and installed to the new Session (elder board) to serve alongside Teaching Elder Mark Knetsch, who also took vows and was installed to continue serving as our pastor. Deacons Mike Billau, Kaden Eaton, Jonny Knowles, and Steve Snively likewise took vows of service, and were ordained and installed to our new Diaconate (deacon board). The congregation vowed before God and one another to honor and follow these leaders He has provided, subject to Christ and His Word, and to "walk together as a particular church," being "zealous and faithful in maintaining the purity and peace" of the body of Christ.

We thank everyone who participated in and contributed to this historic event in our congregation's life. Most of all, we thank God for His care in bringing us into this new and final phase of organization for ministry fruitfulness.
