Yesterday was Youth Sunday! Our teens planned and led worshipđŸ„°. They designed the image for the bulletin, wrote the prayers, selected the songs, and delivered the sermon. It was such a beautiful day! We are so grateful for these teens!!

God, our lives are a mix of emotions- great joy, pride, thankfulness... and also grief, anxiety, even fear. We bring what feels heavy before you now, confident you know the longing of our hearts and are acting in ways that go un-noticed. Help us to see you at work and know that you hear our prayers.

We pray for:
- Teachers and students entering into their summer break
- safe travels for summer trips
- friend family navigating addiction and transitions
-teenager diagnosed with hashimotos
-friend grieving after the death of her husband
-a friend diagnosed with breast cancer
-friend’s family navigating detention center uncertainties
-friend after the loss of her father
- friend undergoing a lumpectomy
- knee pain and potentially surgery
-undergoing radiation treatment
-friend adjusting to Hashimoto diagnosis
-continued improvement of health for aunt and uncle
-the toddler of a cousin just diagnosed with leukemia
- step mom diagnosed with cancer
- health
-frantic pace of life
-escalating conflict with Iran
-a friend’s voice, healing and patience in the process
-recovery post surgery
-family after mourning the loss of brother after a stroke
-political divide in our country
- people experiencing extreme weather
-families displaced

We bring our joys as well. We are grateful for:
- the end of the school health improvements
-news that dad's cancer is in remission
-sports
-friends
-teachers
-the web of connects that surround us and loves us into being

God thank you for today.
Today I am particularly mindful of the children in my life.
Thank you for their creativity and imagination,
For their ability to be truly present in the moment and soak up what they are experiencing,
For how they are willing to take risks and be brave, while also knowing there are times they need cuddles and want a hand to hold,
For their deep belly giggles and their faces when they are in awe of somethings,
For their big emotions and their capacity to move through them towards forgiveness,
For the love they give and their willingness to be recipients of real love as well.
God help me to recapture the beauty and blessing of childhood, let me approach the world with wonder and hope, love and forgiveness, risk and vulnerability, humility and authenticity.
Thank you for children and how they help me learn and grow. Amen.

Thank you for today.
For the opportunity to enjoy time with friends and family, to be employed and educated, to vote for elected officials to represent us, for the ability to own property, share our views freely, worship God and respect the religious views of others.
We are grateful for the women and men who have committed their lives to the armed forces with the hope and intention of defending those freedoms. Many have lost their lives and today we remember, honor, and express our gratitude.
We are thankful for today and mindful of those no longer with us.
Amen.
