The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
Proverbs 18:10

When troubles come, when doubts assail, to whom do you turn? Where is the first place you run?

Instead of our last resort, the Lord should always be our first resource. In unstable times, His name is a strong tower. When we feel threatened, frightened, abandoned or alone, He offers His defense.

He encourages us to bring all of our burdens to Him. With His own strength, He will sustain and establish us so that we will be immovable and unshakeable (Psalm 55:22). We need not fear the uncertainty of the future.

MIDWEEK SPOTLIGHT
This is a 4 week journey and commitment that will help you understand Jesus more, salvation, baptism, Anderson First Church and our mission, vision, your spiritual gifts, membership and the Nazarene church. This class will run in four week sessions beginning September 9th. Join us to Gather, Connect, Grow and Serve.

🧡 Sunday at AFC

This Sunday, we wrapped up our journey through the book of Jonah and our series, Finding Personal Significance.

Throughout Jonah’s story, we’ve been reminded that even when we run, struggle, fail, or find ourselves in over our heads anytime is a good time to look to God.

Jonah’s story ultimately brought him to a place of surrender and the realization that his help and salvation came from the Lord. What a powerful reminder for us, too: we don’t have to have everything figured out. We simply need to turn our eyes toward Him. 🙌

As we close this series, may we carry this truth with us: It’s always a good time to look to God. 🧡
