We have spent the whole weekend in Sehithwa village with all of our church branches coming together celebrating fully the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus. It has been a joyous time as people have come to know the Lord, as children have been welcomed to take part and even lead in worship, and as leaders have used their gifts to honor their Savior. What a gift it has been!

We realized we missed posting on our Botswana 🇧🇼 anniversary last week. On the 19th of March we celebrated 8 years of living and doing ministry in Botswana! Below is a picture of our very first evening celebrating our arrival with our church family here in Maun. Wow, the kids have grown!

We praise God, and thank all of our Batswana friends, as well as all of you who have supported us in so many ways, making this journey possible.

And we have water in Zimbabwe! As many of you may know we have been working alongside leaders in Zimbabwe to build the first church building for Church of God in Zimbabwe, which will be their headquarters church. The land was able to be acquired last year,and already in 2026 the fencing has been purchased and installed and they have now finished the borehole (well). We plan to build the restroom facility next, followed by the church building. This is a project we are still raising funds for, if you have any questions about this project please reach out, we would love to tell you more.

Hello friends!
If you haven’t already, you’re going to be hearing us talk quite a bit about a new project we’re working on alongside our leadership team here in Botswana.

This is a project that has been a long time in the making, and one we are praying will bring lasting hope, encouragement, and Christ-centered living to those involved.

The project is called Hope and a Future Initiative. Through this initiative, individuals will be able to receive crowd-funded grants to either further their education and become more employable, or to start a small business of their own.

Thanks so much to all who took time out to spend with us during our recent Home Assignment in the States. We landed back in Maun safely yesterday after our quick overnight layover in Cape Town. For all who were praying for our trip we say a big thank you! It was a very smooth trip without any complications.

Declan was insistent on going back to school today and greatly enjoyed his first day of Standard (grade) 5. Did we mention it has been raining! Pula!!!(Setswana for rain, a word often shouted in celebration)

Today is Independence in Botswana 🇧🇼! Today we are celebrating the 59th Independence Day in Botswana. What a blessing it is to live in and raise our kids in a country that represents peace and unity so well. Cheers to all of the incredible people who have so well cultivated this country and what it stands for.

💥Big News!!💥

The second part of July was packed, so let’s get caught up!

1. We received our residence permits today! 🥳
Thank you to all who have been praying with us for this over the past 6 months. So happy to have our new permits in hand!

2. Last weekend was our Annual General Meeting for Church of God Mission Botswana. Corey attended the meetings and gave a presentation on our ministry work over the past year (July 2024-July 2025). Have you missed out on what’s been going on? Reach out to us and we will share the highlights with you!

3. While AGM was going on, Abby, along with the Children of Promise Botswana directors and national leader and Bishop for Church of God Mission Botswana, traveled to Ghana to attend a continent wide gathering of directors and national leaders. The first part of the week was the Global Learning Forum (GLF) for Children of Promise and the second part of the week was the All Africa Assembly (AAA) for Church of God Africa. How refreshing it was to be in the room with leaders from 14 African countries! It was a time of learning, growing, and building relationships.

Some of you may remember about a year ago at this time, a child in our Children of Promise program in Botswana was having a critical medical emergency. It was discovered at that time that he had a cancerous tumor behind his heart that could not be operated on. So, he has spent the last year traveling back and forth to chemotherapy treatments in the capital city, Gaborone (a 10-12 hour bus ride one way).

Six months ago, this child’s older brother gave a testimony at our New Year’s Eve service sharing about the traumatic event and miraculous healing that was happening in his younger sibling’s life.

Today, much to the entire church’s joy and delight, the child was back in church. The child stood alongside their mother and gave a testimony to the healing journey they have been on. The child stood strong, breathing with ease, with a calm and peaceful demeanor. The child had been asking for a few weeks to come back to church, and finally was able to come today!

We can only thank God for His love and power at work, for the provisions He made through Children of Promise, and the team of people surrounding this family and praying for them through it all.

And we thank those of you who have been praying for this child and supporting this medical emergency. The child is not finished with treatments, yet, but we PRAISE GOD today for the miracle work He is doing in this child’s life.
