THIS WEEK AT ST. GEORGE'S

Rev. Susan needs help planting winter greens in the community garden bins tomorrow - Thursday, Oct. 29th from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Sunday Nov. 1st – We will have Morning Prayer Service at 10:00 a.m. (no communion). We will have a special Holy Eucharist service with confirmations and receptions with Bishop Daniel Richards at 5:00 p.m.

St. George’s Singers --We will have Choir Practice on Sundays at 9:30 am. Join us for 20 minutes of weekly practice as we prepare special holiday music. All are welcome!

Monday Bible Study – Monday, Nov. 2nd at 10 a.m. Book of Genesis: Chapter 8.

Artisans -- Monday, Nov. 2nd at 11 a.m. We will be tagging our Mistletoe Market items for sale Saturday, Nov. 7th, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Anderson County Museum. Come support our Artisans and pick up some great Christmas gifts! Many high-quality crafts will be for sale from other vendors too.

LOOKING AHEAD

Stewardship Season – Please return your pledge card by November 8th. Place in the offering plate or give to Leo Smith, treasurer.

Bingo at Terra Bella Assisted Living – Monday, Nov. 9th at 3:00 p.m.

Third Sunday Bible Study – Sunday, Nov. 15th after church. Topic: Poverty and Wealth.

Oyster Roast – Saturday, Nov. 21st at 2:00 p.m. Get your tickets by Nov. 1st - $30.00/ each.

Eucharistic Minister Training – Sunday, Nov. 22nd after church.

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE

Community Outreach for November and December -- Anderson Emergency Soup Kitchen – Help us stock the pantry with canned goods and shelf staple products like rice and beans. Food service sized cans are preferred but they will accept cans and packages of any size.

Volunteers are needed to read to children at the Champions Center for Special Children. Speak to Rev. Susan to learn more.

Coffee Hour Hosts Wanted – See sign up list in the Church.

Anderson Humane Society – This is the last week we are collecting donations: (new or used) bath towels, pillow cases and stainless-steel pet bowls. Place in the bin in back of church.

THIS WEEK AT ST. GEORGE'S

Work Day -- Saturday, Oct. 17, 10-12. We'll be cleaning up the yard and inside the house today. Wear work clothes and bring garden tools.

Choir Rehearsal -- Sunday, Oct. 18. We are trying to get a "pocket choir" together to practice Christmas music. Please join Isabel at the piano in the church at 9:30 to make a joyful noise!

Morning Worship -- Sunday, Oct. 18, 10 a.m. Join us for worship and Holy Eucharist, then stay after for food and fellowship at St. George House.

Third Sunday Bible Study – Sunday, October 18th after coffee hour, with the topic: Creation Care and Climate Change.

Monday Bible Study – Will not meet Monday, Oct. 19th. This will resume on Oct. 26th at 10:00 a.m. Book of Genesis: Chapter 5.

Artisans – Monday, Oct. 19th at 10:00 a.m.

OUTREACH FOR ANIMALS

We will be collecting donations for the Anderson Humane Society – Community Outreach Collection for the final two Sundays in October. Bring new or used bath towels, pillow cases and stainless-steel pet bowls and place in the bin in back of church by Oct. 25th. The first carload of donations was delivered and greatly appreciated!

Walking the Dream - artist talk - Friday, October 9 at 7:00pm
This Friday join Shea Abramo, Nat Moris, and Teresa Bauer as we walk through the galleries together creating a dialogue and learning about the process behind the exhibit.

Breaking Bread: Dreaming Together - Tuesday, October 13 at 5:30pm
We invite you to join the Anderson Area Remembrance & Reconciliation Initiative (AAR&RI) for a community gathering centered around a simple but powerful idea: when we share a meal together, we create space to listen, learn, and imagine a better future for our community.
This evening will feature a conversation with artist Nat Morris about Amerikan Dream, his current exhibition with fellow artist Shea Abramo.
Building upon their earlier exhibition, Amerikan Gothic, this new body of work explores the complicated relationship between our shared history and the possibilities of our future. Through art, Morris and Abramo invite us to confront the challenges of racial and social injustice while imagining what might come next through hope, love, faith, repair, and reinvention.
