God's Amazing Plan For Me! Part - 9 - The Stand

09/04/2026

Are you strange... kind of weird? Most of us don't want to be identified as a Weirdo!

Children certainly don't like to be called that. It means you're different from everybody else. That's why from childhood on, we're pressed to conform to be like everybody else. Actually, that's not all bad depending on who "everybody else" is.

For example, if you live in a community of committed believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word... people who truly love God and seek to please Him in all they do, you don't want to be a weirdo compaired to them! If you have a Biblical worldview, you should want to BE LIKE THEM. But ...if you live in a community where Jesus is only a swear word, then being a weirdo to them is actually a real compliment!

I've said this before, that throughout the history of mankind, not much has changed when it comes to human nature. For example: over 2,000 years ago the Apostle Paul was speaking in Athens. Many laughed at him and said: "what you are saying is strange" (see Acts 17:20). Some even called him a "babbler". What they were saying to Paul (one of the greatest men who has ever lived...one of the greatest and most successful orators of all time) was: "You're a Weirdo"!

Now here we are, centuries later and there are still lots of people who think what we (the church) are saying is strange and yes, weird. But we, His church are called to be different ...and to take a stand for Him, even when we are called strange or weird or some other derogatory name.

We are to make a stand for Him even if it means we'll be persecuted for it... even unto death. We are to stand!

I hope you will be with us this Sunday for: "God's Amazing Plan For Me", part-9 "The Stand". The message is based on Acts 17 and Matthew 5.

There are three ways to be a part of our service Sunday: you can attend the service live at NHF, or you can log on to our live stream, or you can watch it later on our page.

If you can be with us in person, everything starts Sunday morning over a cup of coffee and snacks at 9:30 served upstairs behind the sanctuary.
Worship begins at 10:00.

God's Amazing Plan for me - Part 8 - IF

08/28/2026

The word "if" can be found in the scriptures nearly 1,600 times.
People have been using this little two-letter word throughout the centuries:
"If I had been a little bit faster...I would have won!"
"If I had done this... or if I hadn't done that ...I wouldn't be in this mess!"

"Fiddler On The Roof" is a Broadway musical from the 60's. One of it's best known songs is titled "If I Were A Rich Man"

Prayers that have been prayed thousands of times:
"God, if you will just get me out of this I'll..."
"God, if you will do this for me, I will...."
"God, if you'd just let me win the lottery..."

Jesus also used the word "if". John 14:22-23 One of the disciples asked Him, "Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?" Jesus answered and said to him, "if anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We (the Trinity) will come to him and make our home with him."

WOW!!! Here is God's plan for you and me simply put into two verses! He will "MANIFEST" himself to us if. That means He will show himself to us in powerful ways. He will show us His plan for our lives. He will even come to live inside of us and change us into new creatures. He will manifest himself. That means He will show things about His life that are detailed and amazing. He will be active in us. He will love us. We will be His children. We will be at "home" with Him...IF we love Him and keep His Word.
That's a promise, but it is conditional = IF!!!!

Let me say it again!!! WOW!!!!

God has a plan for us... an amazing future, but it is conditional. We're talking about this Sunday in the series called: "God's Amazing Plan For Me!" This week's message is called "IF".

There are three ways to be a part of our service Sunday: you can attend the service live at NHF, or you can log on to our live stream, or you can watch it later on our page.

We sometimes struggle with the issue of submission!
To illustrate this, let me share a funny story I've told some of you before about three men who were sitting together bragging about how they had given their new wives their duties.

The first guy had married a woman from Mississippi. He bragged that he had told her that she was going to submit to him and do all the dishes and house cleaning. He said it took some persuasion but on the third day he came home to a clean house and clean dishes.

The second guy had married a woman from Indiana. He bragged that he had given his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes and the cooking. On the first day he said he didn't see any results, but the next day things were better. By the third day, his house was clean, the dishes were done and he had a huge dinner on the table.

But the third man had married a Carolina girl. He boasted that he told her that her duties were to keep the house clean, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed and hot meals on the table three times a day.

He said the first day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn't see anything, but by the third day most of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little bit out of his left eye ...enough to fix himself a bite to eat, load the dishwasher and telephone a lawn care service.

All kidding aside, God has a plan for us and it includes submission. We're talking about that this Sunday in the series called: "God's Amazing Plan For Me!" This week's message is called "Submitting In His Plan" from Eph 5-6.

How much do you know about Your Heavenly Father's plan for your life? Are you submitting to Him in that plan? Come Sunday as we look at how we submit to His plan. I hope you'll be with us.

There are three ways to be a part of our service Sunday: you can attend the service live at NHF, or you can log on to our live stream, or you can watch it later on our page.

God's Amazing Plan for Me - Part 5 - Woking in his plan Eph. 4-5

08/06/2026

Growing up, I couldn't wait to get my drivers license! In Mississippi in the 60's you could get your license when you were just 15 years old... which I did!

I learned to drive in an old (worn-out) International pickup truck. It broke down nearly every time I got in it. My dad felt like it was because of me and my driving. I thought it was just because it was already worn out!

After a couple years, dad bought a "newer" truck (used), and it wasn't in the best of condition either. And sure enough, it would break down... and it would just so happen to be when I was driving it (I'm sure that was just a coincidence, right?).

Like a lot of teenagers, when I was in that truck, I felt like I could go anywhere, on road or off road, it wasn't a 4-W drive, but that didn't matter to me. And with that frame of mind, there is no telling how many times I got that truck stuck and my dad would have to come to the rescue. I can still hear him... he'd be looking at me and the truck (stuck up to the axels in the mud) and he'd say: "What were you thinking?"

Ah.... that was the problem, my thinking! I was an overconfident, immature driver and my thinking was often "futile". I wasn't listening to my father's insistent warnings and directions, so I had to learn the hard way... I got stuck a lot!

We've been learning from the book of Ephesians. There's a verse in the 4th chapter (ver 17) that says: "So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking." Now, Paul wasn't talking about just sticking a truck in the mud futile thinking... but rather the kind of futile thinking that will get you stuck in life in a terrible place that's difficult to get out of... a place in life that can wreck your life! But God has a plan for us that is good! We need to know what it is and follow it.

We've been talking about our Heavenly Father's plans for us each Sunday in the series called: "God's Amazing Plan For Me!" This week's message is part-5 - "Working In His Plan" from Ephesians 4-5.

How much do you know about Your Heavenly Father's plan for your life? Do you know how to work that plan? Come Sunday as we look at the blueprint for His plan. I hope you'll be with us.

There are three ways to be a part of our service Sunday: you can attend the service live at NHF, you can log on to our live stream, or you can watch it later on our page.

If you can be with us in person, everything starts Sunday morning over a cup of coffee and snacks at 9:30 served upstairs behind the sanctuary.
