Hey New Heart!
Have you ever said: I'm so discouraged I just feel like quitting!? If you answered yes that means you are human. Congratulations ...everyone gets discouraged!
But the bad thing about discouragement is that it will often make you want to quite. Worse, there are times when discouragement seems to go on and on! Day after day you have to push yourself just to keep going. That's not fun! In fact, it's downright hard and can make you miserable.
During times like that, you need to remember, God has an amazing plan for your life and He doesn't want you to quit. He wants you to press on all the way to the end of the race! (see Philippians 3:14). And the Lord wants you to know what to do when you're discouraged? He has given us examples and encouragement through His Word.
First, recognize the warning signs. Understand that there are pitfalls out there that bring on discouragement. Some of them are avoidable ...some are unavoidable.
Second, respond to God's provisions. If you are living for Christ, He will help ...in fact, He will always send you what you need (see Philippians 4:10-19). I'm not saying it's all going to be easy but I am saying that God makes provisions for our discouragement. He will help you when you are discouraged. Your part is to use what He sends you. It will work. Respond to His provision.
When you read God's Word about the Apostle Paul, you see him dealing with rejection, persecution, sadness, struggle ...and it just seems to go on and on. How did he deal with discouragement? Well I'm glad you asked. That's what we're going to look at this Sunday in Acts 18. This is the final message in our series called "God's Amazing Plan For Me" Part 12 "Dealing With Discouragement".

What's happening at NHF
Ladies fellowship luncheons and Bible study
Join us ladies this Monday at noon, Sept 28 at The Barnwood located on Whitehall Rd. and the following week, Oct 7, at Mama Penn’s. The next Bible study is Oct 5, here at the church at 1:00.
SIS - Sisters In Service
Begins Sunday, Oct 4, and will meet each month in the Fellowship Hall at 5:00. All ladies are invited to be apart of this time that will include prayer, a devotion and a different service project each month. For more information, contact Dana Craft or Theresa Judd.
Men’s fellowship and Bible study
Join us men next Sunday, Oct 4, in the Youth building at 5:00.
Celebration Sunday
Join us Sunday, Oct 4, 2026 as we celebrate how God is using New Heart Fellowship through ministry here in Anderson... in South Carolina and around the world. There will be sharing about the ministries we support... testimonies of how God is changing lives and a fellowship meal following the service. Please bring meats, sides and deserts.
Operation Christmas Child
Please pick up your OCC boxes from the foyer on Sunday. Fill them with toys, school supplies, bath cloths and tooth brushes (no toothpaste, soaps, liquids or edibles are allowed through Customs). Boxes are due back here at the church Nov 15, for Dedication Sunday.
Hope Missions
As you know we support Hope Missions here in Anderson where they minister to more than 100 homeless people daily. If you can help with this, there is a need for the following:
Snacks: i.e. small bags of chips / small candies like Snickers, Milky Way, Twix, etc. / small boxed drinks / small boxs of cereal / small packs of peanutbutter or cheese crackers. These are put into ziplock bags and given out daily to the guests. Thank you for your generous help.
