We are more connected than ever! ...Or are we?
A bomb goes off in Iran and within minutes, you not only know about it but you're watching live video. A riot breaks out in Oregon, and people all over the world are watching it. Fire breaks out on a hillside in California, and people see it from multiple angles all across the country. A friend goes on a hunting trip above the Arctic Circle but he can still call home from his sat-phone! The company you work for has video conferencing meeting where you and your fellow workers in 5 states meet regularly to discuss business.
There are literally millions of miles of cable run all over the world along with tens of thousands of communication satellites orbiting the earth connecting us (StarLink alone has over 10,000 sats in orbit)! But most of us don't know the neighbor that lives just two or three doors down the street or around the block. And even with the people we do know by name, we actually know very little about their families, their struggles or the things that mean the most to them.
So, are we really more connected than ever?
God made us to be connected!
The Biblical word for it is "fellowship".
That word means different things to different people. But what does God have in mind for our fellowship? That's what we need to know!!
The fellowship of believers is more than just socializing ...more than networking ...more than making contacts ...more than just having fun together. More than fried chicken! All of these are good, but there is a deeper relationship that God has for His children! The Greek work for it is "koinonia"! I shared some of this last Sunday.
This week we'll go deeper. The message is Part 3, "We Are The Connected!" God created all of us with two kinds of DNA: you received your physical DNA when you were conceived then born into the world. You received your Spiritual DNA when you were born again (salvation)! As a child of God, your Spiritual DNA includes fellowship! It's a huge part of who you are!
In fact, next to salvation and forgiveness, the greatest gift God has given us is our fellowship ...our family ...our connection! That's who we are! The connected!!!
So, what's that look like? What does God have in mind for our fellowship? That's what we're going to be talking about this Sunday morning. Don't miss it!
There are three ways to join us: you can attend the service live at NHF, you can log on to our live stream, or you can watch it later on our page.
If you can be with us in person, everything starts Sunday morning over a cup of coffee and snacks at 9:30 served upstairs behind the sanctuary.
Worship begins at 10:00.
I hope to see you at 1705 Gerrard Rd. / Anderson, SC 29625.
Blessings!
Pastor Richard

Hope Missions
Hope Missions serves breakfast to over 100 homeless people each morning in downtown Anderson. Most needed now: Cheese Grits and Butter Grits. Thank you.
Vacation Bible School is just two weeks away!
We're excited about this year's VBS at New Heart, June 8-12, 5:15-8:00pm in the Fellowship Hall! A light supper will be served each evening at 5:15. If you would like to volunteer to serve in this ministry or need additional information, contact Susan Lister. Join us in praying that many children will come to VBS and give their hearts to Jesus, the Light of the world.
Note: if you are a volunteer for VBS but have not had a background check through New Heart Fellowship, please see Rod Judd. All adults who work with children at NHF are required to have a background check. Thank you.
