Church was never meant to be a place where we simply sit, consume, and leave unchanged. Jesus modeled something greater: a life poured out in service to others. πŸ™πŸΎ

When we move from being a consumer of church to a contributor to God’s family, something powerful happens. Serving stretches our faith. It teaches us humility. It shapes our hearts to look more like Jesus. And often, it allows us to witness life-change firsthand, whether that be a prayer answered, a child encouraged, a visitor welcomed, or a burden lifted.

There’s a place for your gifts. There’s a need for your heart. And there’s joy waiting on the other side of obedience. πŸ’™

πŸ‘‰πŸΎ Ready to take your next step? We'd love to talk to you at church this Sunday about what serving at SMBC could look like for you!

If we're honest, most of us spend more time scrolling than we do reading Scripture and then wonder why we feel spiritually drained. Life gets busy. Work piles up. Kids need attention. Your schedule fills up fast. Nobody is pretending it is easy to stay consistent in the Word every week. But if we make time for everything except God, eventually it shows.

So what actually helps you stay in Scripture during the week? Not the church answer. The real answer. πŸ™ŒπŸΎ

πŸ‘‰πŸΎ What habits, routines, apps, podcasts, or practices help you stay grounded when life gets chaotic? Share what works for you, and help somebody else!

Generosity is bigger than keeping the lights on. It’s about fueling the mission God has called us to. πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ’™

Every gift given helps create a place where children can grow in faith, families can find hope, and our community can experience the love of Jesus. Your generosity helps us continue outreach efforts, build meaningful ministry opportunities, and provide a safe, Spirit-filled environment for all generations.

Thank you for helping Salem Missionary Baptist Church continue to be a church that builds people!

Everybody loves a testimony until they find out it started with a mess. Be careful not to look down on people God is still working on. Some of the deepest encounters with God do not happen on the mountaintop. They happen in weakness, failure, and brokenness. Grace has a way of finding people at their lowest.

The same mess people judge may be the very place where God reveals His strength. πŸ‘πŸΎ

πŸ’¬ What season of life taught you the most about God?

β€œBut he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”
-2 Corinthians 12:9 πŸ“–

A celebrity says they found Jesus and Christians lose their minds. Meanwhile, the people we actually know are falling apart right in front of us, and we barely notice.

Your coworker is exhausted. Your neighbor is lonely. Your friend from high school is searching for something real. But it is easier to repost a famous testimony than to actually care about the people God placed in our lives.

Jesus never built His ministry around popularity. He paid attention to ordinary people that everyone else overlooked. Maybe we should, too. πŸ’™

πŸ‘‰πŸΎ Who in your life needs prayer, encouragement, or simply someone willing to see them?

The strongest people are often the loneliest people. Some are exhausted because they keep trying to carry alone what God designed for community. Faith was never meant to isolate people. God saves through Jesus, but He also sends help through people.

Sometimes the breakthrough is not just prayer. Sometimes it is the counselor, the friend, the doctor, the mentor, or the support system God placed nearby. Pride says, β€œHandle it alone.” Wisdom says, β€œReach for help.” πŸ™πŸΎ

πŸ’¬ What’s one moment God used another person to help carry you through? πŸ’™

β€œTwo are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.”
-Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 πŸ“–
